Anticipation often sets the tone for a dining experience, and Becca Restaurant initially showed promise. I was seated promptly, a gesture that suggested efficiency and attentiveness. From my table, I observed plates emerging from the kitchen that were visually appealing thoughtfully plated, vibrant, and seemingly executed with care. The presentation suggested a kitchen capable of refinement and attention to detail.

Unfortunately, that promise was never realized.

After being seated, approximately fifteen minutes passed before any staff member acknowledged my table. During that time, multiple employees walked by without greeting me, offering water, or initiating service. In a hotel restaurant where hospitality should feel seamless and intuitive the delay was especially striking.

Dining alone should not translate into diminished attentiveness. It presents an opportunity for polished, professional service. Instead, the extended wait created a sense of neglect that ultimately overshadowed the restaurant’s apparent culinary strengths.

As both a hotel guest and a prospective diner, I ultimately left disappointed. While the dishes I glimpsed hinted at quality and care in the kitchen, the absence of timely and attentive service defined the experience far more than the food ever could.

My crab cakes unfortunately had shells in them. After taking the rest of my meal to go, I noticed that my other crab cake had bigger shell pieces.

Making sure the shells are out is standard for any restaurant so a high end restaurant has no excuses.

Celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary at Becca last Sunday, 15 Feb. Been coming here for years now on special occasions because it is a special place. It is our favorite restaurant in Tidewater. Showed up 10 min before our 12:30 reservation for 10 people. Was advised that they’ll be setting our table. Twenty min later, was told that there were still diners at our pre-arranged table in the Loggia (patio). Thirty min later, had to settle for a table in the main dining room. Not the best location since it was right between the kitchen service door and the bathrooms. Still, the food and drinks are top notch as always. And the service provided by Mr. Kevin Battle ensured that we’ll keep coming back despite the initial hiccup.

My wife and I had the absolute best Valentine’s Day breakfast experience at Becca. From beginning to end, everything was truly amazing.
We were first greeted by the valet team, who were extremely kind and courteous. They clearly explained where to go and made the arrival feel smooth and welcoming. As soon as we walked inside, we were blown away by how beautiful the building and overall establishment were. The staff inside were just as impressive warm, professional, and organized. They even took a Polaroid photo of us for a keepsake, which we received at the end of our meal. That personal touch meant a lot.
We were escorted to the garden where our private igloo was set up, and it was absolutely stunning. The outdoor garden atmosphere was beautiful, and the igloo itself was decorated perfectly for Valentine’s Day roses everywhere, balloons, a personalized note, and cozy heating inside. Everything was thoughtfully done and exceeded expectations.
Our waitress, Sadie, was excellent the entire time. She was fast, attentive, courteous, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. The service truly elevated the experience.
The food was a 10 out of 10. Every part of the meal was delicious and well-presented. To top it off, we received a complimentary dessert and a gift bag with our keepsake photo inside, another amazing touch that made the experience feel extra special.
From start to finish, everything was exceptional. We can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend Becca for a special occasion, they truly know how to create an unforgettable experience.

Went for a nice valentines lunch.. amazing atmosphere. Almost felt like i was back home in Charleston Sc. Food was very good. Pastries were warm and delicious. Service was supper friendly
