1st time here. Place is small but the staff are super friendly and the food was great! I also like the small and big bloody mary's, as compared to others in the area that offer only one option/size. I will definitely go back!!

A sunrise hike with a walking group followed by breakfast at Big Sam’s. 20 people in our group seated at 4 table. Great service (our server was Donna - breakfast with a smile - thanks). Early bird Charter Captains Special - 2 eggs (over easy), 6 slides of bacon (done just right) and 2 big slices of wheat toast. The toasted bread was excellent ! A great way to start the morning all around.

This was the best meal I’ve had in Virginia Beach. Abby, our waitress was excellent, nice and informative. We had 1 lb of steamed shrimp, the shrimp tacos, Rockefeller oysters, 6 raw oysters and 12 bbq twice grilled wings. Everything was delicious. The wings were the best in town and I will be back again! Thank you bigsams!

Very cool restaurant! The food is amazing and the wait staff is friendly and attentive.
Our only complaint was waiting 75 minutes for a table- BE WARY of coming here at peak hours with a party of 7 or more- the restaurant is on the smaller side and bigger parties are harder to accommodate from what it seemed!
After a few margaritas, which were delicious and the bartender was awesome, we got a table near the corner and had great views of the boats and the marina.
Immediately, we ordered 3 dozen clams and 3 dozen oysters - a fantastic start as they both were delicious!
I usually take photos of the food, but this one got missed-
However, the crab cakes were some of the best we’ve had! The she crab soup had big chunks of crab and a great creamy flavor. We will be back to take more photos and try more menu items!
