It's the 1st time my family and I dined at BlackEyed Peas 5/11/25 Mother's Day and it won't be the last time. The wait staff was kind,friendly, and helpful to the questions we asked. The food was superb!!! Very clean establishment. The prices were good. BlackEyed Peas get a rating of five ⭐ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ K. Church

The only reason I waited for almost 30 min to even acknowledged it because i drove from Chesapeake to Virginia Beach. There is no leadership or managers to make things flow. I have never seen anything like this. It’s like they was not expecting people to show up. You got to be more organized.

Delicious comfort food! Love their fried chicken, wings, collards, mac and cheese, and yams. corn bread is amazing. Servers are always pleasant and the sweet owner is almost always there to oversee things. Food is made to order and always hot when you get it, def worth the wait.

I ordered chicken and waffles. Waffle was EXTREMELY soft and doughy. I wish I had more of that cornbread in place of that waffle. The chicken wings were EXCELLENT! My husband's meal, meatloaf cabbage yams & mac-n-cheese, was delicious. I will try this location again.

Nice clean place. It was hard to tell what kind of atmosphere it was because of some kind of private event going on. The guy behind the bar was on point. Was there at 6:45pm on a Friday, draft beer was under $4.

Given PLASTIC Flatware to eat with! Asked Servers Twice for Silverware because I saw people at other tables with it. Server said there was No Silverware available, Dishwasher was behind!
Food was Not Good! Chicken Wings Over Cooked, Cabbage had more Onions than Cabbage!

My first experience here was not great.. the atmosphere was good.. waitress was nice. The food.. potato salad was way too Salty, it seemed everything was fried in the same Ole grease, collards taste like spicy glory greens, my chicken wings were not good at all. Cornbread too sweet.. more like corn cake. I want to say.. its hard for these types of places to last.. and if the food can't be prepared as per requested then it will not last. Everybody doesn't like Salty food or spicy food. Potato salad tasted like someone dumped a whole sack of salt in it. But thanks anyway.. oh and the fried fish.. either dirty grease or something.. but I believe it's all fried in the same grease because the fried porkchops looked just like the fish.. same.. looks, same grease and same taste. Do better.

Went in to try something new and was seated pretty quickly. This was for lunch and did not appear busy. Staff walked by 5 times and never addressed the table to ask for drinks. After sitting there for just under 15 mins. I left.

The corn bread was good, the fried shrimp was salty the mac, and potatoe salad was ok. Nothing to brag about as my bf says "it served it's purpose". Biggest down fall was the service took 5 mins plus to be seated in a empty restaurant. Took 15 mins to order. Speed of the food was fine, took 30 mins to get the check. Wish them the best, I wouldn't come back.

We ordered 3 turkey wing dinners. My 2 daughters came before mine. I asked the server to cancel mine after tasting one of theirs and not liking it. The server said okay and took my order for the wingettes dinner. About 5 minutes later she returned to the table with the turkey wing and stated her manager said that I could not swap my meal and that I could order the wingette dinner as a separate entree. So, this was my first and last time eating here.

I ordered the oxtails with cabbage and macaroni. The cabbage was good the macaroni was watered down didn’t have no taste to it and the oxtails had so much fat up there it was barely any meat up there it was a waste of 25.00 only thing worth eating was the cornbread and cabbage i am highly disappointed i dnt think i will be ordering from this place again.
