I may not be an experienced restaurant critic, but for me Blue Seafood and Spirits was 5 stars across the board. My party jokingly said that we should complain that the food was too hot.

Everything folks say it is. Creamy crab soup was a rich flavor without being overwhelming. Fresh Seafood Combo blackened was fantastic with the best crabcake I’ve ever had next to delicious salmon and scallops. Complementary appetizer and biscuits. Friendly service by name with everyone, including the owner. I’m on the hype train and recommend a visit!

Voted best in the USA. I appreciated the service which was above exceptional. Before I can co-sign the best I’ll have to tryout a few more entrees and appetizers. Very good and I’ll definitely go back.

We were in for a special occasion and were looking so forward to the meal since they were highly rated and recommended by friends. The servers and owner are friendly and make it a point to touch the table frequently. Our server kind of disappeared after our entrees came out but it was busy and she still gave good service.The mini-appetizer and biscuits were absolutely delicious. My letdown came from my main course. I ordered the blackened Rockfish special and it was very bland, as were the sides to the entree. However, the seafood was incredibly fresh. I just wish it had more seasoning. I would still recommend this restaurant, as it is nice to see a local business flourish.

Amazing drinks, amazing food, and amazing experience! You have to try the Hibiscus drink, and the scallops were nothing like I've ever had before. Also, the biscuits with the spread has to be made with all the love because it's the best biscuit I've ever had. Excuse me, "biscuits" because I had like 5.

I really wanted to love this place, but it just wasn't what I was expecting after all the hype. First I will say scallops were delicious. Crab cake had no flavor, cheesy mashed potatoes didn't taste of any cheese. The vegetable medley was really not good at all. Service was nice. Perhaps I ordered poorly, I don't know but I left so disenchanted.

Had an early dinner today with my friend. Before we even stepped onto the sidewalk the door swung open and we were greeted with cheerful smile. Our server was awesome. She read off the daily specials like a champ and answered all of our questions. We even received a complimentary shrimp snack before our appetizer even arrived and delicious homemade biscuits. The owner greeted every table multiple times and even cleared plates. The shrimp cocktail was very good and beautifully plated. I had a blacked salmon salad which was equally as tasty. For dessert we had the BEST key lime pie. All of this for under $100 and we were in and out within an hour (granted we did get salad so I’m sure other dishes take longer) i would highly recommend this hidden gem. This is a small restaurant that doesn’t take reservations as we left around 5:30pm the place was already packed and had a 15min wait. Don’t let that hinder you tho! It’s worth it. If i lived In VA beach id be a regular.
The best. Having lived on Shore Drive and regularly gone to seafood resturants on Lynhaven Inlet, this is definetly a dining experience worth the drive off of Shore Drive and wait for a table.

We had a wonderful meal and incredible service. However....there was a baby stroller across from us and I thought it was a baby. Then during part of dinner we heard snarling which was briefly disturbing because we couldn't figure out where if was coming from. I'm looking under my table. Lol. To my shock it was two small dogs in a stroller. Service dogs? I don't think so with the snarling. I chose to not say anything out of respect for diners and staff but who decides to let two small dogs in a small restaurant and we have to listen to snarling?. After the dog family left, I wasn't the only diner wondering what was up. Code of VA only allows service dogs and they certainly were not behaving like service dogs and two at the same time in a stroller?

Wonderful locally owned seafood spot. Owners are wonderful. My daughter expressed her desire to work in a kitchen one day while we were there for her birthday, year ago, and they let her have a quick peek at the kitchen while we were there. The food and drinks are always amazing.
