Staz-a-Licious (Formerly Carrie's Cakes & Confections)

I came by this store today and decided to grab something sweet to eat on the way. I bought 2 scones (Citrus: it has lemon and orange zest) and a Blueberry one that were each $3.49. I was not disappointed. Very moist! Very delicious! The owner is so sweet and takes pride in her bakery. Will definitely come again!

When this bakery was formerly, Carrie’s Cakes, I had experienced the most wonderful spice cake with caramel icing. So looking forward to having that cake again, I ordered a spice cake with caramel icing for my birthday for pick up on May 1st. I was told that this bakery used Carrie’s recipes. Cake was picked up at 1:00pm and served after dinner. The cake was dry and the icing, which was not caramel in any way, was awful! The icing left a terrible after-taste for hours. It was so bad, I could not share it with friends and neighbors. I called the next day to share my complaint and kept the cake that day in case the owner wanted to see it. I never got a callback from the owner. I went in-person the next day to follow up. The kind woman at the counter was under impression that the owner had called me which hadn’t happened. She took my complaint again, I requested a refund which was $67 and said she’d tell the owner who would be in that afternoon. Still no callback. I threw the cake out. Now 5 days later, I get a call from the bakery (not the owner), saying that they could not issue my refund because they could not inspect the cake which had been thrown in the trash. Pathetic business practices! I will never buy anything from there again!

I came to this bakery inquiring about having a cake made for my wedding. I am a customer and huge fan of the previous owner so I was excited about possibly using Starz-a-licious. The cake tasting went great and so was the customer service. The reason for the lower rating is because of the lack of communication and/or follow-up. After I did my cake tasting, I called the shop to discuss prices no answer, left a message). No one called me back do I went to the bakery and was told a few quotes would be emailed to me. I even sent them a text to confirm they had my email information. Exactly one week later, I had not recieved any emaile quotes nor a called, so I reached out via text to let them know I'd not heard anything and asked when should I expect to hear something. It's now been almost two weeks since I went to the shop and asked for a quote, over a week since I texted for follow up, and I've heard nothing. I understand that people get busy, but I should not have to physically go up to the shop every time just to get answers and information. I really wanted to work with this bakery; however, as a bride to be, it makes me extremely uneasy no one has contacted me nor responded to me.

Amazing service, beautiful cake and it tasted amazing! Super moist and just plain delicious! This is my second time ordering a custom cake from here and they have yet to disappoint! Thank you for this beauty!

I bought an almond bearclaw! It looked really nice but you could barely taste any almond flavoring.The woman at the counter was very nice but she didn't know if there was almond extract in it. This bearclaw didn't taste like it had almond extract in it because the flavor was bland.

My daughter in-law ordered 5 or 6 cakes for everyone celebrating their birthday that particular month for a party. Different flavor cake and different frosting. I tasted each cake at the party. For some reason the flavor was familiar. I recognized that cake for I use to bake them all of the time when my son was younger. It was boxed cake mixes from the store. My heart dropped because I'm sure they charged her an arm and a leg for a $1.85 mix 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of oil and milk. What a way to come up and be successful in your business when you deceived her into believing you're a true bakery. Kudos. Congratulations

I called the bakery today I live in New Jersey. I have a friend that is ill and in a facility close by the bakery today is her birthday. I had no way of getting down there to bring her a cake. I asked the woman on the phone do you deliver and she said we really don’t and then I explained the situation and she’s so kindly said That when she closed the store, she will personally deliver it herself. That was the sweetest thing I’ve heard in a very long time and I want to tell you that you brought tears to and the biggest smile to my friend today. I really do appreciate it and she said your cake was absolutely Delicious to anybody out there. I recommend you go to this bakery you will be satisfied and once again so that kind woman. I stopped here for a quick bite for breakfast. This cute little bakery didn't disappoint. My husband and I enjoyed our almond croissants. They weren't overly sweet, and there were plenty of almonds. The service was friendly too. I would recommend giving them a try.

I ordered a cutting cake for my wedding and would highly recommend! Service was super helpful and friendly, and the cake was not only beautiful but also delicious! Will definitely order again for any future events
