I have been a carville fan since I was a kid and i'm in my 5s. The virginia beach store is going through growing pains again.
I haven't seen their long term employees and weeks. Service and standards are falling.
There's freezer burn on all the freezers, and it really does affect the taste of the ice cream and makes the saucers stale.And I mentioned it to the owner, and she just kind of blew me off and told me they were supposed to be stale. So sad I really love carvel.
I'm not sure i'm gonna keep coming anymore. I'll have to find a new favorite ice cream shop.

My experience here was awful. The customer service here is really outrageous.Me and my mom were just trying to go and get the buy one get one free sundae that’s only on Wednesdays, and we got there right when it turned 9:00 but instead of helping us they just decided that they didn’t wanna take two more costumers who just wanted some ice cream, meanwhile there were people in there ordering and eating. The laziness with these workers really just blows my mind. This was one of my worst experiences at a cream shop I have ever had. I am 12 years old and even I can recognize how bad this is.

This is a Virginia staple. I've eaten here for 40 years. They have the best banana barges and chocolate walnut ice cream. Over the years, they have had some questionable employees and management. However, the current employees and management are steller! Highly recommend this location!

Just ordered a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake from here. They were very kind and outstanding and the cake came out just the way I hoped it would. Would come here every time in the future.

Always a favorite, the ice cream attendant was nice enough to offer me a sample and now I am sold on the Biscoff soft serve. I hope they bring back the Oatly ice cream. Very nice workers and courteous.

We stopped in this location and spoke with Wendy. We are looking to have them do our wedding cake and she was so very helpful, so professional. Allowed us to try some different flavors of ice cream and crunchies as it was our first time in a store. She made the process seamless and spoke very highly of her coworker Crystal who is the other cake decorator, so that made us feel confident in our choice as well. Will post the final product in April.
Icecream is ok, but tastes like imitation flavors and looks like food colors. I love their icevream cakes.

There’s nothing in the world like Carvel soft-serve and this place is the best! I had come from out of down and didn’t even know this place existed….only to discover that it had closed ten minutes earlier. The owners and staff were so sweet and even though they must have been tired, they re-opened and I was able to have some DELICIOUS soft serve. I was in heaven! I’m coming back next time for Fudgie the Whale!

Very rude staff, we went in to order a custom cake with our son, took the book to a table so he could see the choices and the young girl behind the counter told us we couldn't move the book, it was too high up for him to see. Got a lot of back talk and attitude from the staff. Highly disappointed
