We had a fabulous first time experience dining at Chops during this Restaurant Week. The atmosphere is warm and inviting as we passed by an impressive bar area, and the main dining room lent itself to elegant, but also dressy casual dining. Our wait staff were gracious and attentive. The menu choices, especially for this Week, were a nice variety, and I would recommend the pork chop, with the mashed potatoes and broccoli...yum! We enjoyed our visit so much that we may be back again this week! Thank you for a great evening!

We felt very rushed by the server and the manager. They were constantly at our table. It was clear they were turning tables. Also, our steahs were ordered medium and served medium rare.

The food, service, cocktails, and ambience were all spot-on. The steaks were perfectly prepared and the lobster tail accompaniment was large and a good value. I would go out of my way to dine here again.

I have been going to Chops in Virginia Beach for years, all my experiences at Chops VB were strong 4 Stars, but it appears they have changed their menu and downgraded the steaks, before the Bone in Ribeye cost around $80 bucks just for the meat , now the bone in ribeye is $59 with two sides and the steak is about 8oz smaller, it’s a good steak, but you can get the same plate at Outback for $39.
Once we got back to our hotel we were told that they lost their executive chef.
The new menu is a bad downgrade for what it was before.
I rather spend more and have a better meal, tonight was too close to a midrange steak restaurant.

Very nice restaurant. The food was served on time and preparations were perfect. The waiter was very thorough and attentive and communicated well. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend this place for any special occasion.

Rack of lamb was heavily seasoned I really enjoyed it. The brocoli was a bit undercooked/crispy for my liking. Server was super attentive! Atmosphere fairly quiet around 6:30pm 12/12/2025 which was nice but also text on menus was smeared and tables had a few scratches in them.

I have come to chops 4-5 times over the last few years and it used to be one of my top 3 restaurants in Hampton roads. I was seriously disappointed this evening. Service was friendly but inattentive. I had to ask for my drink to be refilled (which i never used to have to do at chops) and my wife's water never got refilled. Our appetizer and soup were barely warm and took a long time to come out. We used to get complimentary Bread, but i assume they dont anymore since we didnt get any. The Jumbo scallops are not jumbo anymore and were legitimately the worst scallops I have ever had. Overcooked and had no flavor. I am not a steak person, but the first steak I ever enjoyed was from chops a few years ago, so I always get the Filet when I come back. I ate a few bites and took the rest home since it needed sauce. Which is not a good thing. The mashed potatoes were worse than instant mash, and the broccoli was bad. The reason I am so dissatisfied with the current quality or lack there of is that I am not comparing this to higher priced restaurants, I am comparing it to chops just a short while ago. We will not be coming back, and will no longer recommend it to friends and family.

We had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at Chops. Our server (Daniel, I think) was absolutely amazing and all the food was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We enjoyed it so much!
The waiter tried really hard but the kitchen was backed up. We were there for 60 minutes before dinner came out. Mgmt seemed more worried about making the tables just right.
