We've been going to Chops every year for my birthday or anniversary since 2018 and we won't be back after our experience last night. The server was nice and attentive but the way the restaurant is being ran by new management is very disappointing. My daughter ordered her drink and we were informed they didn't have any sprite or lemonade. Then I ordered a glass of wine and they were out of that brand and even the most basic wines were insanely over priced. They were also out of calamari for appetizers. We asked the server how they were out of the most basic items and that's when we were informed of new management and their struggle to keep up with maintenance of the restaurant. Then we ordered our steaks medium. They came out well done and dry. At this point it was laughable that a steak house couldn't get a steak order correct. They weren't busy either. The server was very apologetic and we sent the steaks back. The new steaks came out cooked medium but mine was very chewy and I couldn't finish it. By this point we were ready to go. The worst part it there wasn't even a manager in the building that evening to discuss these issues with. The server said he couldn't remove the steaks because a manager had to do the over ride and there wasn't a manager there to help. They ended up giving a small discount for Hilton members. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave and we did. We always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service but we did not see the value this time around and will likely not be back.
We were served rancid beef. We've been going there for over a decade and never had a bad meal. We will not be returning manager. Didn't even know what to say to us.
Rack of lamb was tough; shine not removed. Charged $48 for a bottle of wine listed as $46 on the wine list. Don't recall being informed of the credit card fee.
food was top tier and served with tenderness and savory flavor. From the moment we came in we were met with kindness.
This was my first time at chops. The restaurant is beautiful inside the service was excellent and the food was very good. I will definitely come back again.
This was a very smooth and quick dining. We have our 2 year old son traveling with us and he enjoyed the food as well. We were sat quickly, got our order in, and received food even faster. The food was top tier. We were able to share and filled us both up. We would recommend trying this place out for sure! In and out is exactly what we needed that night.
Not good at all. Tourist trap.
$193 + tip. No drinks. Really go anywhere else.
Great customer service. Great food. Had a wonderful time celebrating my wife's birthday. She also very pleased with the dinning experience. Will be back.
We arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation, and we were met by the manager, who acted as our host, to seat us. The manager came over a little later and announced that he would be acting as our server. We gave him an order for two drinks from the bar and also ordered some special toast with Parmesan as an appetizer. Here is where things began to go south. It took about 20 minutes before I received my drink, but my wife's did not arrive. The server/manager told us that the bartender was working on hers. Eventually, she had had enough and walked around the corner to ask the bartender what was holding up her drink. There was no bartender. A waitress saw her waiting for her drink and volunteered to make it for her. She delivered the drink and then made her a complimentary "new" drink to try, in appreciation for her waiting. Forty minutes later, we still had not received our food. Eventually, the server brought over my order, not hers. Later, she went to the place where the server was standing (where they pick up orders) and asked where her food was. In the meantime, I had ordered what appeared on the menu as a great piece of fish, sitting on a slice of baked potato with an interesting sauce on top of the fish. With the first forkful, there was disappointment: the fish was warm, and the slice of baked potato was cold. Please don't worry, we conveyed all of this to the manager to provide constructive criticism for his benefit and the restaurant's benefit. He took it well and compensated us for all of our trouble. We gave him and the woman who made my wife's drinks a tip - we all want to do better, and the feedback given was to focus on improving them, not the establishment.
We have been to Chops several times and enjoyed it, but sadly this last visit was very disappointing. So here's my story.....recently Chops has changed their menu and not for the better. Their website states the menu is seasonal, but they had always kept their popular dishes and changed a few others. Now there are fewer selections and the food quality has gone down. I ordered an overpriced medium rare bone in ribeye, because one of the appetizers and two of the main dishes I usually order were no longer on the menu. The steak was prepared medium well instead, so basically too overdone and dry for my taste. I should have sent the steak back, but didn't want the others in my party to have to wait on me. Also prior to the new menu, I believe, the meals would come with a side, but now the meals are a la carte which makes the meal more expensive. After finishing our dinners we asked for the dessert menu and were told there wasn't one, our waiter gave us just three desserts options. The last time we ate there, we had a choice of several desserts and liqueurs, but not this time. If this is the new direction Chops will be taking, we won't be returning. However, this was just my experience and is my opinion.

Victor provided great service.
The goat cheese appetizer, salmon dish and the Alfredo were delicious.
The staff attention to detail in the simple task of drying and removing spots from glasses caught my eye.
Don't order your food to go without checking your bag. 1 plastic cup of a side is supposed to feed 3 people. When you call to let them know you only got 3/4 of your food they will argue with you!
Mid-range steakhouse, with mid-range quality steaks, sides and overall service.. For VA Beach is totally fine but if you come with high expectations as to find a propert steakhouse from a big city you'll be disappointed..
Quite restaurant, mid range quality food, limited menu for mains and sides.. overall it's a pass for the area as there are limited alternatives
The food and service were great, and the restaurant overall had a fantastic atmosphere. The only downside was that, as a solo diner, I was seated at what seemed to be the only table without a tablecloth or any setting—just a plain high-top very awkwardly next to the cash register. Meanwhile, the rest of the restaurant had a beautifully set ambiance, which made my spot feel like an afterthought.
Filet was cooked perfectly and I would return to try more of the delicious food.
