This was my first time I. After hearing about the food I drove 25 mins to come in and enjoy breakfast I said good morning to the host told her I was a party of two she told me I couldn’t be seated until my other guess has arrived she then allowed two incomplete guess to be seated directly behind me while standing in hearing distance told me they are complete after hearing a couple say they are waiting one one and then a mother with a baby say she’s waiting for someone but wanted to start feeding her son all be seated while I was told I have to wait the manager came and and told me it was confusion about them number in my party when I clearly Said two the text sent to my phones said two the manager did a poor job fixing the situation and allowed me to leave with the issue unresolved I would not be coming back and definitely will be letting all of my followers know of the treatment I got at what is supposed to to a nice breakfast/ lunch spot highly disappointed

I love this place so much. My husband and I come at LEAST once a month; the service is amazing, the food is wonderful, and the vibes are always welcoming. Their specials never fail my husband, and I’m a tried and true Mediterranean Bowl fan. The only critique I’d give this restaurant is the music is just a tad too loud. I work in a fast-paced environment with loud noise; I understand it’s to help drown out conversation and make a more excitable atmosphere. However, at 9 and 10 in the morning after waking up I’d rather not hear Nickleback or Pearl Jam blasting in my ears. I’m sure the employees would agree, and may even be more efficient without such loud music.

I usually love Citrus because they offer gluten free items, however, today my experience was unacceptable. While i understand second party deliveries can be a lot to deal with, these orders should still be treated like a paying costumer will be receiving it. I ordered the cape Henry cracked scrambled eggs, grits and gluten free toast. Eggs were not fresh cracked eggs and you could tell by the texture. Sausage didn’t seem cooked all the way through (have had it multiple times before and loved it) so i chose not to eat that to be on the safe side. Grits were missing completely, and toast was not toasted at all. Just a piece of white bread. I’m not sure if today was just a bad day for the crew or what. I would have loved to enjoy my meal, but that just simply was not the case today.

Service was great! The drink (peach mimosa) was really delicious. However, food was very bland. Also there was a fly in my syrup bottle, which came out when I poured the syrup. And my daughter had a hair in her food. Def will not return.

I came here with my family after a long vacation, looking forward to a good meal. Instead, it turned into a complete disaster.

First, we checked in and were told there would be a short wait. After sitting there for nearly 40 minutes, a staff member casually tells us the “computer deleted our spot in line”, which was clearly a lie, since they had simply forgotten to put us in. No apology, no urgency, just excuses.

When we were finally seated (already frustrated and hungry), we placed our order. After another 40 minutes, our server comes to the table and says, “I forgot to place your order.” No words. My entire family, including parents, were starving while we sat there wasting more of our time because of this place’s complete incompetence.

And what did management do to make it right? Offered me a measly $10 gift card as if that somehow makes up for their total lack of professionalism and basic customer service.

This restaurant clearly does not care about its customers or their experience. Avoid this place at all costs. There are far better places where you’ll actually be treated with respect, this one clearly isn’t one of them.

Me and my friends have been to citrus regularly a few times over the past few months. Usually we get amazing service. However this time was different. I know the stigma exist of teenagers not tipping well, but this is no excuse to treat a customer indifferently. (me and my friends go out to eat regularly as well. We always tip more than 30%)
It started with me, and my other friend got sat down while we waited for our other friend to arrive (we had three total). After we were sat by the host , we weren’t greeted at all by our server. However, as we were waiting for our friend we watched tables in our severe section get greeted and have full conversations for her tables.
Then our server came in rush and quickly placed down our waters then walked away never asking if we wanted anything to drink other than water. She briefly asked if we were waiting for one more then left. She never came back to the table until 25 minutes later after when she was reminded of us from the table next to us, who’s order she had just taken.
It was also very obvious that she forgot to ring our food In the kitchen, while the other table beside us got their food about 20 minutes earlier than us, even though our orders were taken around the same time.
I believe our server‘s name was Kyra. She had pink hair. This was unacceptable and unfair. All three of us have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and were pretty quick to understand what was happening.

Although a bit expensive the food is of superior quality and plentiful. One of my favorite places when visiting Virginia Beach. Highly recommend.
