Literally some of the best food and cocktails we’ve had anywhere in va beach. We love this place!

Civil Libation has become our go to for date night and weekend brunch dates. The food is always impeccable and the menu has a multitude of options that never disappoint and always offer variety to choose from.

Although the dinner choices are wonderful, Saturday mornings for brunch are our favorite time to go there. Although all of the staff is exceptional, Ashley is our favorite bartender. Lovely person, and she makes the best drinks!

This is my favorite place in Virginia Beach. My wife and I have weekly brunch dates here and we have tried just about everything on the menu. Excellent food and the staff is exceptional. Ashley is usually our bartender and she is absolutely fabulous. She made me the best Old Sport I have ever had! 10/10 will go again.

This could almost be my favorite restaurant based solely on the speedy service! We dropped our daughter off at a party and had a window to eat. We didn't mention that, but the service was very fast and very smooth! They didn't rush us or anything, we just got everything quickly (and on a Saturday evening!)

The food itself was great! We are definitely foodies and appreciate good food and we appreciated everything this place had to offer!
From the appetizers to the burger to the fillet to dessert, we loved every bite!
We'll be coming back for sure!!!

A Culinary Triumph at Civil Libation

From the moment we arrived, Civil Libation offered more than just a meal — it delivered an elevated dining experience steeped in warmth, hospitality, and culinary excellence.

Our celebration began with a gracious welcome from Ella, the hostess, who immediately and sweetly escorted us to a beautifully secluded booth — a thoughtful touch that made our anniversary feel incredibly special from the very start.

The Avocado Toast was a standout — expertly prepared with a crisp foundation and a creamy, vibrant topping. The flavors were balanced with precision, brightened by a hint of citrus and elevated with seasoning that whispered rather than shouted.

Stephanie chose the burger, and it was simply exceptional — juicy, rich, and crafted with care. Every bite offered the perfect balance of bold flavors and comfort, an elevated take on a classic that showcased Civil Libation’s culinary finesse.

Then came the showstopper: the Filet Mignon with Eggs — a dish that was nothing short of magnificent. The filet was exquisitely seared, tender and buttery, paired with perfectly cooked eggs for a plate that was both luxurious and soul-satisfying.

And I must say — I absolutely fell in love with their homemade blackberry jam. It was vibrant, fresh, and bursting with flavor — the kind of house-made touch that lingers in memory long after the last bite.

The artistry in the kitchen deserves high praise. Compliments to the chef — your talent is evident in every detail, every flavor, and every dish that leaves the pass.

Service was equally outstanding. Our server Charlotte was attentive, warm, and genuine — the kind of person who makes you feel at home while elevating the entire experience. And a special thank you to April, the manager, who took the time to stop by and check in with us. Her grace and presence made it clear that hospitality is at the heart of Civil Libation’s culture.

Civil Libation isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where exceptional food, heartfelt service, and thoughtful details come together to create something truly memorable. We can’t wait to return.

We go here frequently and are never disappointed. Last night I had their coconut shrimp and lettuce wedge with Bleu cheese and bacon. Awesome! And the service is always excellent.

Cool little spot. Service was great, atmosphere was nice, food was decent. We had the Argentinian and Civil Burger. Good drink menu.

Our fave date night spot and they have EXCELLENT mocktail options which is so rare these days!

We went there for drinks because I saw them advertised in a local magazine at the doctors office with awesome pics of drinks
When we got our drinks it looked like the bartender didn’t give af, lack of presentation, liqueur and garnish, if I pay $15 for a drink it should be strong and picture ready, these were weak and sad looking, won’t be back, too many other places to try or go back to than a place that disappointed me, and yes, a bartender and the cook will mess up a servers tip

What a winning combination, Civil Libation food, service and Tinto's wine and friends. Thank you Shannon, what a great idea. A wine pairing dinner. Not just a two course dinner, but a five courses with a wine paired for each.
I know tonight was a special event, but the food is straight out of Civil Libation kitchen, so you got to try it!

This is the second time I’ve been here. Both times the food was amazing. I don’t drink but tried a different Mocktail each time and they were delicious. Tonight Crystal was our server and it may have been one of the best overall experiences with a server I’ve ever had. She was knowledgeable confident and just overall positive energy. My steak and scallops were cooked perfectly. You have to try to the coconut shrimp
appetizer they are huge and delicious. Overall a 10 out of 10 but Crystal put it over the top will be back.
