We've really enjoyed this restaurant. With a young child during off-hours, it's been great. Servers are attentive, and the menu has lots of great options.

Unfortunately, we had a bit of a hiccup during a takeout order with all our family in town from Richmond.

First: My father-in-law and I both ordered ribeye steaks, which are listed on Google as $34. But we were charged $44 each. I called to inquire, and the manager confirmed the true price is $44, and apologized for the inconvenience.

Now, they obviously don't owe us anything. That's the price. But given the discrepancy on the Google listing, I would have expected at least an offer of a gift card, a dessert next time we come in, something.

For what it's worth, the steaks were not worth $44. They were barely worth $34. Both were undercooked, chewy, and not a particularly good cut of meat.

Second: This is the $7 Cesar salad. Pitiful looking and no dressing.

We will continue eating here as we really do enjoy many if the menu items, but this was a missed customer service opportunity in my opinion.

Civil Libation is my favorite Bistro/Restaurant. My all time favorite appetizer is the Tuna Nachos and my favorite salad is the Wedge, with it's homemade bleu cheese dressing . The quality and freshness is outstanding. I highly recommend trying them. The food is amazing because everything is so fresh. They have simply the best options and taste by far. I usually order my food to go and enjoy a glass of Riesling while waiting. Occasionally, I'll dine in. Everything I have tried so far exceeds my expectations.

Met a small group of friends and had a great time. The food was excellent, wait staff was perfect & the prices were good.

Will definitely put them on the list of favorites for future visits!

Civil Libation has become our go to for date night and weekend brunch dates. The food is always impeccable and the menu has a multitude of options that never disappoint and always offer variety to choose from.

Although the dinner choices are wonderful, Saturday mornings for brunch are our favorite time to go there. Although all of the staff is exceptional, Ashley is our favorite bartender. Lovely person, and she makes the best drinks!

This is my favorite place in Virginia Beach. My wife and I have weekly brunch dates here and we have tried just about everything on the menu. Excellent food and the staff is exceptional. Ashley is usually our bartender and she is absolutely fabulous. She made me the best Old Sport I have ever had! 10/10 will go again.
