Delicious as always! Portions large Enough that I had another small meal leftover
Delicious
One of my partner and I's favorite things to do on the weekend is have brunch at Classic Diner. You really can't beat their old school vibe and quality service. It somehow makes us feel both at home and like we've stepped back in time. Although their food is great, the best part of going is their amazing and friendly staff :)
Ole school breakfast dinner.
Amazing!
Nice place for that nostalgic diner look and feel. The servers were awesome and food fantastic. I had the chicken salad club sandwich w/ a side of chips and a dill pickle spear. That was $12.00. My co-diner had the S.O.S. Of course, the menu referred to it as Creamed Chip beef on toast. If you're military, you know what the S.O.S. stands for. This was real chipped beef, not ground beef. Anyway, the place was full of lunch goers, but no waiting for a table or our order. So, if you're near the Kempsville section of Virginia Beach, stop in and give it a try. They do both breakfast and lunch.
Food was good not great enjoyed the diner overall.
One hungry man $10.50 (actually $15.99)
One order of biscuits and gravy, which was basically a cracker because one of them was so flat it didn’t even resemble a biscuit. And the other was very flat but at least resembled the biscuit. $8.99. (Actually ?)
3 egg meat and Cheese sandwiches one was supposed to be without and side, but we were given French fries. No price, but the 2 egg breakfast that includes meat and toast is $8.99. (Actually $10.99)
Now I did see the sign that says eggs are 50¢ more starting 3-6-25. I get that we have to pass prices on when things are that expensive. But I know food service crates of eggs are not a dollar an egg. So you are essentially charging people $.50 more for each egg on their sandwich. I was told that the menu was an old menu. And that she asked if I needed to look at the menu. I guess it would’ve been nice if she had said the menu prices are different now. I guess that that’s probably on me too.
However, the above cost a total of $62, a very expensive breakfast, even with the cost of eggs.
Additionally, the biscuits I was given with the biscuits and gravy order were almost flat. One of them actually was flat and looked like a cracker. They were both very, very salty.
The food was essentially good otherwise. When you ask for toast though it should look more like toast and less like buttered bread.
I did call and again was told that the menu is old that there’s a $.50 charge for each egg in addition to the cost of the meal.
I was also told with respect to the quality of the biscuits that they can’t do anything unless I show them. My items were all packed up. It was a little close quarters, and as it was I thought the toast that was wrapped up was the second biscuit. I drove 15 mins I had no intention on driving back to show them the flat cracker/biscuit that they placed in my order and were well aware that it should not have been served.
I got the hungry mans breakfast.. great place for a big breakfast. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
