I had the crab cake Benedict, which was wonderful. Perfectly poached eggs. My husband had the sausage and pepper omelet. He loves it. We were less impressed with the Bloody Mary's, however. The mango vodka was a little off-putting. But we love Lizard and will be back!

Our group of six arrived at Leaping Lizard at 11:00 for brunch. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Our waitress was lovely and very good. Our four guests had never been there before. They loved the ambiance. Then the food came. Absolutely delicious. We were encouraged to stay as long as we wanted. After brunch we visited the chickens and walked to the water. Leaping Lizard is an excellent place to enjoy a meal. Our son and daughter-in-law moved to VA Beach recently, and we plan to return to Leaping Lizard whenever we're in town to visit them.

Took my work team out for a celebratory lunch. They thoroughly enjoyed the fun and quirky atmosphere... from the decor to the farm animals to the open porch with the fresh September breeze blowing across our faces. My team had a blast and devoured their food. Will definitely come back. Staff was absolutely delightful and they closed us out with chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven for dessert. Cannot recommend enough. 
Meals are consistently very good. The wait staff are always friendly. Betsey is so nice. While we like sitting in the screened-in back porch, when it's hot & muggy (yesterday), the fans don't help much. Mom and I were perspiring when we left .

Outside of the limited parking lot everything was fantastic as usual. Their food, to me, is not heavy where I feel like I need a nap afterwards. Weather was great for the open patio. I was celebrating my birthday with a couple friends...one of which had never been. Positive experience all the way. I highly recommend Leaping Lizard.

LL is such a popular place, it is good to make a reservation. Service was prompt and pleasant. The menu offers excellent variety with some unusual and delicious dishes. The servings are generous. My salmon filet was perfectly cooked (not dried out) despite a full restaurant...testimony to a skilled chef. The crab quiche was also outstanding. Much that is served is grown on site or locally sourced. FIVE STARS

Once again, they knocked it out of the park. Great food, wonderful service, charming atmosphere. There is such a positive energy that flows through the place that you feel good just being there. The staff makes you feel like family. We can't wait to go back.
As a vegan there are very few options that offer food for my diet and I was so excited to find this place but please let me urge you to stay away from the Leaping Lizard Cafe for multiple reasons. No. 1: The wait staff have no idea what ingredients are in what dishes, meaning you don't know if you are going to get food that is going to make you sick or not. No. 2: They do not honor their reservations. This restaurant closes at 3 on Sundays and takes reservations at 2:45, they rush you right through every step of the dining process and no one wants to pay for that. You want to review the menu, order and dine in a way that is relaxed and not rushed. The Leaping Lizard is a mess of an experience and if I could give it a zero I 100% without a doubt would. Go to The Green Cat cafe for awesome vegan food, that restaurant never disappoints, heading there now!
