Not for me

An impromptu stop at the newest location in Ocean View in Norfolk recently did not disappoint! Having dined many times at the original Holland Rd VB location we were already expecting an on point experience! The decor, hostess, bar service and -ambiance were all warm & inviting. We started our visit with handcrafted MANGO MOJITO w/ fresh mint & Cheese EMPANADAS.. Two golden flaky fried pastry were cooked perfectly, oozed warm cheese, & accompanied by a creamy tomato & a spicy green dipping sauce.. Dinner choice tonight was the Shrimp Mofongo w/ Garlic sauce. A huge perfectly seasoned, & fried basket of mashed plantains held a mix of grilled onions, garlic, peppers & shrimp . The grilled veggies & shrimp were nestled inside the crisp plantain basket and all sat in a pool of more garlic broth, perfect for soaking every savory bite in ! Since the portion was so ample, it was enjoyed once more for lunch the next day. Desserts of Tres Leches cake & Flan will have to be enjoyed NEXT visit as we were stuffed & satisfied our expectations for this location were totally delivered on . Many blessings on this venues success to come !! Pics in the comments attached

The food is terrible and when there is a mistake in the food they don't try to fix it.

Our favorite spot when we travel to Va beach, we eat here at least twice even if we just make a 1 night trip. Best Puerto Rican restaurant that I’ve had in Virginia. Please bring a location to Richmond Va ❤️

Authentic Puerto Rican food with good portions at a reasonable price! My family has eaten here many, many, many times and were never disappointed. The mofongo is a game changer.

This was my second time at this particular restaurant and I was extremely disappointed.
My wife had vegetables in a plantain style dish. The vegetables taste like they were previously frozen and old. She had plantings which whatever or they were fried was absolutely horrible. I had chicken with tomatoes and onions. The chicken was sliced so thin it look like lunch meat And it was hard. If it was prepared earlier that day and stuck in a microwave, then served.
The pork belly was really good. We also had a liter of sangria which was greatly overpriced.
The staff was very accommodating, but we were there to enjoy a good meal. My advice would be do not eat at this particular restaurant chain

I really really wanted to like this place but it fell short of my expectations. The food was bland. No flavor what so ever. We got the chicken mofungo, arroz con gandules y pernil & the sampler appetizer.

The sampler was just ok. Tostones tasted a bit old and the rest was average at best. And it was super hot! Had to wait for few minutes for it to cool. The pernil was also dry.

I also didn’t feel the hospitality. No welcome, thank you, come again….nothing. I know this is a family restaurant but they need to do better if they want to stay in business. Compared to the restaurants in NYC this place doesn’t come close.

The servers were nice, but onion steak looked like ground beef. Churasco steak was ok. Drinks and appetizers were ok.

Does this look like Pollo a La Parilla to you? Not sure how I could point to the item AND say it to the lady taking my order, and they still manage to get it wrong. Always check your food before leaving! I can’t even let them know they screwed up my order because they’re closed now!

The food here and at all their locations is the real deal PR food. I recommend the trifongo and with no butter. It's sooo good

I was on a business trip and had a place in mind to visit until I noticed the building sign of this restaurant from the road. My taste buds changed, so I decided to try out this place. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted. The menu seemed like a traditional puerto rican restaurant. I decided to order bistec encebollado with arroz con gandules with a side of fried yucca. It was delicious! The food quality is excellent, tasty, authentic, and the waitress (Wendy F) did a stupendous job! When I return to Virginia Beach, I will be stopping here again. This place deserves an A+ grade.
