Where do I start? We had such high hopes for this place. A nice looking jazz club close to the beach with great music and good ambiance. Thats it for the good. I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and a Blu Cheese salad and a drink. Hubby ordered the wings. It took 15 minutes...yes, 15 minutes for her to tell me there was no blue cheese dressing for my salad and for the watered down drink and the shrimp cocktail which helped us decide not to order an entree. The shrimp were a regular medium size so I asked my waitress and then she tells me, there arent any jumbo shrimp so the chef put a few extra shrimp on. They were overcooked and falling out the shell. Hubby's wings were...just wings. Not good. Not the worst but we never got a chance to be entertained since they weren't sure if someone was performing when we got there but after we ordered our appetizers...whalah, its confirmed, no one will be performing. Maybe this place will get better. Hopefully, the food and service will catch up to the ambiance of the place. Oh and the ladies bathroom was horrible.

You must try this spot! Wonderful food, Clean environment, Classy, Excellent music, Wonderful location. Very nice! I go whenever I'm in the Virginia Beach area and will be going this weekend! Can't wait!

Not sure why this place has four stars. My friends and I stopped in on a Saturday night. It was about half full and we were told that if we sat at a table then we would be charged a $5.00 cover per person. So we decided to sit at the bar and have a drink and listen to the live band. As we made our way to the bar the owner told us there would be a cover to sit at the bar. Really?!! He could tell we were pissed so he changed his tune and told us if we wanted to stay it would be fine. My friends only stayed because I had to use the bathroom and I know they wouldn't let me if we didn't buy something. So anyway one of my friends ordered a cosmo. The owner said he didn't have the stuff to make a cosmo. Again really?!! My other friend ordered a Sprite with vodka and asked the bar tender for a lime. She got one and threw it in her drink with lots of attitude. After that we were done. I guess my review is mostly about the service. However I will not be going back to try the food. The live band that was playing was pretty bad too. So all in all not a good experience and I don't recommend deja blue to anyone.

This god awful place doesn't even deserve HALF a star! Visited 3 weeks ago. Bad cocktails and even worse customer service. "Magically" there was no Manager on duty to remove the disgusting drink my friend ordered from the bill, AND we waited at least 30 minutes to have the bill taken care of because "the credit card machine wasn't settled from the night before." What in the entire hell is that and why didn't anyone tell us that from the beginning? Get your sh* together! I also noticed no one was eating, Only drinking. I guess the food sucks too? The server was cool, but did absolutely no type of damage control or compensate this bullsh* experience...just stood there like a deer in headlights. Sad! THANKS FOR NOTHING, Deja Blu. I hope there's a better restaurant in place of you by the next time I visit the beach. I should have known this place was a joke when I walked in - the celebrity pictures on the wall were all taken in the 90s, which is most likely the last time Deja Blu and any of those singers had a hit. Seriously, this place is so horrible I'm still in shock weeks later. LOL

Girlfriend and I went Friday night. There was a $5 cover, small crowd, DJ and live music. The wait staff was very friendly, however the food at deja Blu was AWEFUL, bar drinks average and the live music weak. They should let the DJ play all night and cut the menu to bar food and have it prepared elsewhere. We were very disappointed and grossed out by the food. Sorry, but it's the truth...

Don't waste your time. Charged a cover charge of $5. We were going to walk out because we just wanted to eat. They seated us without the cover. We were there for over 2 hours and still didn't hear any music. Got there after 8:30 pm and left after 11 pm. Food was mediocre except for the collard greens and crab dip. Over priced!! We had to wait a long time for our food. There weren't that many people in there. Our waitress was helpful but not well informed. My chicken was cold--refrigerator cold! The food wasn't very flavorful. The ambiance was decent but the seating didn't have foot rests so my feet hurt from just dangling!!

Went on Thursday 8/21 around 8pm They are known to be the only jazz atmosphere on the Ocean front. The place was quiet, and decor in blue; which was nice. However, the waitress was playing R&B music from her Iphone. Why not jazz? The only issue was the message tone of whistling kept cutting the music off . This was annoying to see the waitress repeatedly return to her phone to respond to her messages. Sorry Deja Blu, we'll will never visit here again. We passed over other restaurants just for the Jazz. We should have left like the other patrons before we ordered food.

Bottom line up front: Horrible service and the server went in after I closed out my bill and added an 11 dollar tip!! This place is so horrible; I came durig Memorial Day weekend--and I will never come back. Pass on the drink specials because the little cups they serve them in ar enot even worth the price. I went here with my friends and their children and it took forever for the food to come out (over an hour to be exact; the server forgot to put in the order). We spoke to the manager about the food, and he offered to only take 10 percent off (1 dollar) for our wait. I told him I felt that the food should be removed because your server forgot to put in our order. He proceeded to go back and forth with me over the bill. I told him that you should never go back and forth with a customer who chooses to eat in your restaurant--the customer hsould also "be right". he told me the customer is not always right and that he would take nothing off. needless to say we paid and did not tip our server. A few days later I checked my bill and the server went in and put in an 11 dollar tip on my bill and my friend's bill. Stay away!! I only gave them one star because I had to.

Menu is pretty limited as is beer selection. Waitress was confused about our wine selection. I was hoping for much more from a blues lounge, didn't even have blues playing on the radio as we waited a long time for the apps. Inside is pretty cool, probably more worthwhile when there is a band and you are not there to dine. I would say go after 9 and eat before, have a plate of wings, a mediocre beer and enjoy some live music.

This place was complete bullshit. We came on Thursday night and we were the only people in the bar. We came back Friday after another bar to check out the scene and it wasn't any better. I ordered Allure pink moscato because I had it the night before. The bartender told me they didn't have it and I told her they did. She finally found it and then had to go "find out how much it cost" she came back and said it was $22.30 for two glasses. I buy this moscato regularly from the liquor store and it cost $11.99 for a bottle. I was beyond pissed but I gave her the money anyways. This place had a terrible vibe, bad service and a crappy bar markup. Ripoff!!!!
