Lets start with the welcoming and friendly service to the homemade and freshly made salsa ???. I had 2 rounds of the salsa alone; its soooo good. I ordered the strimp chimichangas & let me tell you … the cook put his foot in it. I never had a chimi so good in my life. Im on vacation but if I lived down here, I will probably visit this place every other day. The strimp tacos was also bomb. The strimp are cooked to prefection. I been to alot of places down at the beach & i took a uber to this one & its well worth the trip. A true master piece this place :)

For the first time here, what a disappointment. Coming from another state and thinking that the food will be better... And mmm fuchi,. The cake without jalapeño, without onion, and watery... And without comments about the three remaining dishes... Bad food and to finish the tip included...

We visited this restaurant based on reviews which were very good but we found it to be mediocre. Upon arrival we thought we were at the wrong place because it looked small but there is a room in the back. The food was just okay and the restaurant itself was just okay. The chips with the salsa were stale. My friend did not eat her food because she said it was too bland. I would not return.

We eat here about once or twice a week. The service is very attentive and friendly. It has that "your family here" feel. Super nice people that serve great tasting authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. Their drinks are creative and not lacking on alcohol content. El Charro is just a super comfortable place to eat a great meal and have a cocktail served by friendly, hard-working people who have your best interest at heart. Highly recommended.Hope to see you there!!

Don’t sleep on this place! The owner and his staff are so friendly, even sharing their hot sauce recipe with my husband.. who is obsessed!The food is delicious and fresh and in my humble opinion, as a salsa connoisseur myself, they have the best red salsa I’ve had in Virginia Beach! Don’t miss out on this gem in the vibe district!
