Terrible customer service. The sign on the door states that the grill closes at 4:45 pm. The employee saw me getting out of my car and locked the door at 4:40 just as I approached it. Then the other employee who was already cleaning the grill, before 4:45 pm looked at me and mouthed that thay are already closed. If they are going to close before the posted hours, change them! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I know I am only one customer but reviews and word of mouth goes a long way! I used to like and enjoy going there. NO MORE!

I’ve been going to Uncle Al’s since I was a little girl, and it honestly hasn’t changed a bit in the best way possible. It’s classic, consistent, and homey. They have the best hot dogs and hamburgers in Virginia Beach, hands down.
The staff is incredible so nice, so friendly, and most of them have been there forever. It feels like everyone knows you, even if they don’t.
No matter which location you go to, you’re guaranteed a delicious meal and a warm, welcoming environment, whether you’re eating solo or with friends.

My husband and I went in yesterday. Very cute and homey place. I was craving hot dogs and this was certainly the perfect spot for it. The staff was super friendly and everything tasted great. We'll definitely be stopping by again soon!
They are in violation of Federal Law. They refuse to allow Service Dogs, even though it is a federal violation of the ADA. If you have a service dog and go into their business, they will refuse you service. The Department of Justice will enforce this and the first violation is punishable by a $75,000 fine. Even the health department has advised the owner that this is a violation. So far, the owner has been stubborn and still ignores it. Because of this, I have been banned from going in there by the owner. Boo Hoo... Reporting this to the DOJ... Is not worth the time at my age. Hopefully, somebody else with a service dog will act on this.

I don't even need to leave a review for you to know that this restaurant is TOP TIER. If you've never been, go. Love Al's. I've been coming since I was a kid & it's as delicious as ever.
