I’ve been going to Uncle Al’s since I was a little girl, and it honestly hasn’t changed a bit in the best way possible. It’s classic, consistent, and homey. They have the best hot dogs and hamburgers in Virginia Beach, hands down.
The staff is incredible so nice, so friendly, and most of them have been there forever. It feels like everyone knows you, even if they don’t.
No matter which location you go to, you’re guaranteed a delicious meal and a warm, welcoming environment, whether you’re eating solo or with friends.
A true Virginia Beach staple. Always has been, always will be.

My husband and I went in yesterday. Very cute and homey place. I was craving hot dogs and this was certainly the perfect spot for it. The staff was super friendly and everything tasted great. We'll definitely be stopping by again soon!

They are in violation of Federal Law. They refuse to allow Service Dogs, even though it is a federal violation of the ADA. If you have a service dog and go into their business, they will refuse you service. The Department of Justice will enforce this and the first violation is punishable by a $75,000 fine. Even the health department has advised the owner that this is a violation. So far, the owner has been stubborn and still ignores it. Because of this, I have been banned from going in there by the owner. Boo Hoo... Reporting this to the DOJ... Is not worth the time at my age. Hopefully, somebody else with a service dog will act on this.
I don't even need to leave a review for you to know that this restaurant is TOP TIER. If you've never been, go. Love Al's. I've been coming since I was a kid & it's as delicious as ever.
Kid-friendliness: I bring my toddler here for lunch on the regular. Everyone who works there is so sweet to her, & it's just a kid-friendly restaurant, general.

This post is for people who have Service Dogs. In violation of the ADA this business will deny service with anybody that has a Service Dog. They denied me service, because of my German Shepherd Service dog, even after I proved that he was a Service Dog. This is in direct violation of Federal Law under the ADA. I have been advised by the Department of Justice that I could file case against them. I have decided it's not worth all that effort. They tried to say that having him in their building would be against the health department of virginia beaches rules and that they could be shut down because of it. I contacted the health department and they said that was a total lie and that they would contact the owner of the business and set her straight. Now, because of that, the last time I went in, she said, I will no longer be welcome in her business. If I had filed the claim against this business, the Department of Justice said they would be facing a first time violation charge of $75,000 dollars for a first offense. Lastly, just a note.I'm allowed in all the other Famous Uncle Al's with him. In case you are wondering ADA stands for the American Disability Act.
