Been going here awhile and always order the house salad along with the calamari as a meal. I mentioned to the waiter that the salad was a bit scarce this time. Owner /Mgr overheard and questioned me about my concern. He actually argued with me and said the place has been here 13 years and always served on same plate. I agree, but the plate was empty. This is a house salad not a SIDE salad for $7 . Lost me as a customer. All he had to do was apologize and bring me a pinch more. Apparently from other reviews, this man lacks customer service skills.

Burgers are delicious, and the tots!! The tots ate hands down the best I've ever had! Don't pass it up if you're in VA Beach.

Visiting the area and dropped by on our first afternoon in Virginia Beach. Ordered Tuna and swapped rice for tater-tots, because who wouldn’t?! H ordered Tater-Tot Nachos with Chorizo. Both dishes were pretty good… not knock-our-socks-off delicious, but decent. Service was fantastic though - couldn’t have asked for better.

Was I discriminated against for being a minority?*updating because actually that I think about it, the last time I went with my white partner, they were mentioning how the serving staff kept staring at me*I’ve been to this place a few times with my partner and have never had any issues or complaints. Well today’s experience has left me questioning whether I should give this place another chance or not due to them possibly being discriminatory against minorities.I came here to get a to-go order for my mom and I after we had gotten off work. We entered the building around 3pm. The doors were open and there is a group sitting at a table, and a man sitting at the bar who immediately tells my mom and I that the bar is closed and the kitchen is closed and there is no bar tender because they’re getting ready to close (at 4pm mind you) everyone just stared at us like we’re were crazy and we were the butt of some inside joke. We said all we wanted to do was place a pick up order and they said that they close everything down BEFORE 4pm so that wouldn’t be possible. We graciously began to walkout the door and then the bartender arrives just to tell us again how they close down before their closing time at 4pm. I don’t like to read into things too much but this interaction felt weird and I had never had an issue with them saying they close early when I went with my white partner. I’m not sure if this restaurant is discriminatory against minorities or not, but the people who were still eating and drinking in the restaurant were all white and seemed that they were still going to be dining for a while. I don’t understand why none of the employees at least came to the front to explain what was going on, instead of other patrons. If they aren’t discriminatory and they are just shortstaffed and have to shut down earlier, they should change their closing time from 4pm to 3pm. I think this place should be looked into because this ain’t the first comment that has come up about possible racism behavior. I love FoodNetwork and Guy and I feel like he wouldn’t stand for this type of treatment. It goes against everything that FN stands for. Someone needs to start explaining.

Ordered beer battered fish sandwich which i had ordered on previous visits. Fish tasted uncooked and very heavily battered. It was awful and both of us were sick overnight.

First timers. Great service, waitress was really kind and friendly and helpful. Food was decent. Definitely bar food. Not a bad thing, just how I’d describe it. Chicken was seasoned really well and juicy. Tacos were ok. Prob wouldn’t get them again.

Went to listen to live music and have drinks. Wasn't overly busy, but the server didn't check back with us as often as I would have hoped. Ordered a shrimp and spinach dip that was an appetizer on special. It had 2 overcooked shrimp in it, and the dip was thinner than I expected a dip to be. It tasted ok though. Wouldn't order again. Tried the Cherry Limeade crush and had a lemon drop shot, and they were both good! Cute, beachy atmosphere. Band was decent. Would try again.

Visited this past weekend while visiting from Chicago. Restaurant staff was friendly and service was efficient. Food was yummy and arrived quickly. I had the blacken tuna wrap medium rare. I was surprised how much tuna was in the wrap well worth the price! I would highly recommend checking them out.

Flip Flops is popular amongst local residents to Red Mill and the surrounding neighborhoods. It was visited by Guy Fieri when he visited Hampton Roads and boasts his signature brand on the wall by the entrance.Their burger selection is great. Menu is not especially healthy but they have some interesting items and a huge selection of burgers with some interesting toppings.Came here for a working lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the burger.Inside is basic. Service was good.

So… I had been coming to flip flops and the owne’s other restaurant that is now closed. I think it was called Chow boys? Anyway, we are locals and we would come in and spend our money at his restaurants. He knows who we are. I’m talking about the owner now Chris. He knows who we are and we would spend our hard earned money in there and he would never acknowledge us never come up to the table and say hey welcome back thank you for coming in nothing. So rude so inconsiderate so I haven’t been in there in several years now. Probably thinking this is petty but when you’re a local and you’re spending your money in local restaurants which is not inexpensive anymore, you want to be acknowledged as a frequent patron.

Employees are absolutely amazing. Food is amazing. The owner on the other hand has discriminatory tendencies against the neurodivergent community. I would be more then happy to have a sit down with him.

Was in town for family emergency. The waitress and owner were just amazingly friendly. The food was outstanding. Husband got the bang bang shrimp, cooked perfectly. I don’t know what is in that bang bang sauce they make but OMG. I got a jerk chicken wrap, seasoned perfect and the grilled pineapple in it was fantastic little sweet hint. The slaw y’all, the slaw reminded me of way back in the day when KFC slaw had a small hint a heat and was fresh, but this was so much better. Highly recommend ❤️
