I mean, we tried to give them a chance. We saw the bar had tables full of people waiting for food and drinks, looking frustrated. We went in for a table for two on a Saturday night, the hostess said 15 min and bar seating "wouldn't be taken care of."Sat there for 15 min while 6 more parties (varying from 2-10 people); hostess still said 15 min to every single person. At 20 min, with no change, we had to walk out. Our 3rd time visiting, we also had to walk out due to slow/mismanaged service.Loved them as a food truck, but the restaurant business the 3 times I've visited... They're lacking big time. Hopefully, it turns around--we'll be watching reviews to track trends in that case.Edit: thank you for the quick response!Couple things:1: This isn't libel as it is an accurate account of my family's experiences here over the course of several visits.2: Since, on other platforms, you're threatening to sue anyone who writes a negative review of your restaurant, I felt the need to review my authentic experience. That has nothing to do with whatever situation you're going through with ex-employees.

Donny brought the burger out, Queen Anne the Greek. Homemade Tzatziki was on point! Pickled onions and crispy fried fries. Well done Donny @Big Kitchen! Staff was super polite and accommodating for me and my boy, Max.

Service was great. Menu seems to have kind of off beat stuff. Fish and chips good. Wife had some chicken with sweet potato and collards. Sweet potato was different but really tasty. Collards not so much.

Great food and great service from the bartender. She was doing triple duty as our bartender and waitress, and also did some hosting duties. Food was great. They could use some more help since the food took quite a while to come out, but that's the same issue many other places are having

I have visited Fry's several times. The food, service and atmosphere are all on point. Give them a try, you won't regret it. ~BKL

I went to this restaurant on Taco Tuesday and glad that I did. The tacos are a decent size for the cost and taste very good. The waiter was a young man who seemed a little flustered due to something else that was going on, but still took care of us well. I wish I remembered his name so I could give him a shoutout.

This place is awesome!!! The menu is small but packs a BIG taste. Nate is the best! He suggested the fish and chips and let me tell you the fish was as big as the plate and you will not find a better flavor! We enjoyed everything about this restaurant.

Wonderful surprise in Kempsville! Menu offersgood selections. Service was tops. Dining room very comfortable.I had fish and chips with 2 big pieces of fresh Rock Fish with perfectly seasoned breading- so good! I don't know how this can be offered at $16.00! My husband had tacos that rivaled street tacos we had in Mexico! Also my husbands favorite beer, Devils Backbone Vienna Lager on tap.We will be going back for sure.

Wow! Several restaurants have been in this location over the years. Sure hope this one lasts! Terrific all around experience, starting with Nathan our helpful, attentive and patient server. The food had a nice presentation and excellent taste. Best fried green tomatoes I have had. Wonderful Greek salad with white fish (serving so large I brought some home). Wife had the beef tacos and was extremely happy with them. They were so large she had to bring one home. I could have made a meal out of the house made chips and black beans sauce. So nice to have a chef that doesn't over use the hot spices and peppers .

Stopped here for an early dinner after shopping and so glad we did! Everything was delicious. We tried the grilled whitefish Greek salad, beef deshebrada tacos, green fried tomatoes and got the strawberry balsamic pie and bananas Foster pie to go. The portions are so large we took one taco and half the whitefish salad home. The black beans and chips served with the tacos was so good. Nathan, our server, was very pleasant, professional and friendly. Overall we had a very good meal and plan to visit again soon

Wanted to order take out, but they don’t answer the phone. Had heard great things about this place, so we drove up to order. You have to go sit at the bar. Bartender was fairly busy, so it took a bit for her to get to us. We ordered and waited a long time to get our food. Additionally, the prices rung up for our orders were more than what the menu lists. I must say, the food was quite good once we finally got to eat. Looks like they are understaffed. Would definitely try again, but it would be great if we could place our order over the phone. We had cheesesteaks and shrimp po boys. They were delicious.

A great new place to try the fare from what used to be served from a food truck. It has expanded to the restaurant format. The offerings are part familiar, part fusion. So far, I've had the Pork and Collard Greens and am impressed and will have to try the other selections. They have a selective drink menu with about a handful of beers on tap. There's plenty of seating as well. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current Covid guidelines. Recommended.

We tried Fry’s Big Kitchen and boy were we glad we did. I had the BBQ plate with collards, pickled onions , slaw and huge piece of cornbread. Portions were generous and prices on point my friend had the fish and chips and said they were the best she has had locally. Carl the chef came out and gave us a warm welcome. We enjoyed it and will go again soon. Yum.
