Gran Rodeo Mexican Restaurant delivered one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food was outstanding from start to finish, but the highlight was a stunning entrée served inside half of a fresh pineapple—an unforgettable presentation that matched the bold, vibrant flavors inside. The dish was perfectly balanced, with tender meat, fresh vegetables, and a subtle sweetness from the pineapple that elevated every bite. Portions were generous, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between lively and comfortable. Gran Rodeo isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place to enjoy exceptional Mexican cuisine done right.

The Gran Rodeo dish was sooo Soo good! Will be craving it until our next visit back to VA Beach.

I came here tonight to celebrate my cousin’s birthday, and what should’ve been a simple, joyful dinner turned into one of the most unprofessional moments I’ve ever witnessed in a restaurant.

After we finished eating, my cousin realized she didn’t have her birthday card anymore. We went back to the table to look for it, only to have our server hand it to us already opened.
Let me be extremely clear: we never opened it.

There is zero reason for staff to be opening a guest’s personal belongings — especially something as private as a sealed birthday card — unless they were attempting to see what was inside. It was invasive, unethical, and downright disrespectful. And the fact that it happened while we were still in the restaurant makes it even more brazen.

If this is how they treat customers’ property, I can only imagine what happens when no one is around.

This experience showed a complete lack of integrity and basic professionalism. We won’t be returning, and I’d strongly suggest management retrain their staff on ethics, boundaries, and common sense.

Did not bring my cheese dip

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. Definitely worth a try.

Went here before a concert at VB amphitheater early on a Friday evening. The food and drinks are always delicious and reasonably priced. Our server wasn't rude but wasn't exactly friendly (but she may have been having a rough day) we also had to flag her down for our check. But all in all, a great experience. Will be back.

Waitress disappears, didn’t make sure we needed anything but was quick with the check. Food was excellent. Nice, clean restaurant. Waitress needs to do a better job. Tips aren’t always guaranteed for inattentive service.

Their food is amazing, and never disappoints. It can be LOUD inside when it's hopping and it's a beautiful place, just nothing to deafen the noise so that's literally my only complaint.

I eat really healthy and I've never been so impressed at their Baja salad. Never a limp washed out lettuce, avocado, all of it. The shrimp are cooked perfectly and quite large, just amazing food. Got Aqua Tacos. We are regulars for to go orders as we are both introverts that prefer to enjoy food at home in the quiet. Never had a disappointing dish much less meal from them!

i ordered a single cheese dip to this location at 8:03. the restaurant was empty with less than 5 tables. it has taken over 30 minutes to get a single cheese dip. i kept asking for an update on my one item and they kept saying they didn’t know what was taking so long. i came off a long shift at work thinking this would be a very quick snack to have in between work and going home. this ended up being 30-40 minutes waiting at the restaurant for a cheese dip. i was very unhappy with this experience. i won’t be ordering pick up here again. on a more positive note, the hostess was very kind and grabbed the cheese dip for me after i waited for an hour but it’s not her job to have to go to the kitchen to make the food or order, it’s the kitchen staff who should be keeping up with them. but thank you to the kind hostess who made sure i got it and kept checking for me.

Bon appetite!!! The seafood del Puerto was delicious with the hot chicken tortilla bowl of soup. The service, food and complimentary chips with dipping sauce was delish. The family always asks to go there over places we use to Goto. The wait staff treat us like family every time we eat there.

Fantastic delicious food! Don’t fill up on the chips and salsa! Haha it’s hard not to with their delicious white sauce. Great portions and friendly service. Ask for Luna…she will take care of you. We will be back again when we visit Virginia again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I've become an expert grilled chicken quesadilla eater as it is the only thing I will eat at a Mexican restaurant, lol.
Hands down, best ever!! Grilled to perfection and served fresh and hot!
Tonight I added french fries for some reason. They were undercooked.Oh well, no big deal.
Great service. Our waitress was very polite.
It was around 7:30 when I arrived and it was loud. But I guess that's the norm for these restaurants? Makes for tastier margarita's 🥳
Anyway, check them out. Mom said the taco salad was pdg.

I swung by for a Togo Streets steak tacos, side of Mexican rice and accompanying ingredients. Not only was this visit to Gran Rodeo worth all the money but these tacos were so delicious.
Go try. Asta la Vista Amigos! Mucho Gracias señoritas.
