This was my first visit to them and the atmosphere is very nice and welcoming, definitely not what I expected when I walked in it was so much more, the food looked smelled great and service was excellent - the only thing was for myself I only ordered a mango/pineapple smoothie I paid for it in cash, after I paid I looked at my receipt and I was charged an extra 20% for gratuity which was automatically charged, that definitely doesn’t make me happy at all, and it was charged without my knowledge only after I looked at my receipt, this was a turn off to me, I am all for supporting small business but automatic 20% gratuity is not what I expected

My first time visiting and met the beautiful Mrs.V which is the owners daughter. The place has a warming and welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious and nice size portions for a decent price. I will be definitely be returning again. Don’t forget to try their pudding, it’s the grandmother recipe and it’s comes highly recommended.

Food is great. Hours are not. I stumbled upon it and was amazed. But I work two jobs an i can never get there. Im at work when you're open. And there is no door dash! 😕

When in VA Beach this is the place to chow down. Wait staff superb. Hospitality on point. Management making rounds to meet and greet. Superb vibe with smooth instrumental music. They got a bar too. If they know it's your Birthday, it's on cause Boss lady can sing. They got the best shrimp and grits I ever tasted, and because of all that I'll be back like Arnold Swartzenegger (lol). Support this local small business and you won't be disappointed.

Happy Cafe is my go-to rest stop when I am driving from down South to the Northeast. It is a perfect stop - right off the highway. The staff is super kind, the food is always excellent, and the bathroom is always clean. The entire stop is comfortable with a good ambience (music and tv for sports folks). My go-to rest stop every time. Thank you for your consistent excellent service over the years!

If you haven’t eaten here, you are missing a gem!! Every table should be full and a line out the door. They have some of the friendliest waitstaff I have encountered. The food is really good with lots of vegan/vegetarian options. They had excellent coffee, a real tea list….served properly not just lukewarm water and a tea bag. If I lived in the area I wouldn’t write a review because I would want to keep this place for myself.

loved my first visit to Happy Cafe! I discovered it while searching for cafes, and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, the food was excellent, and the staff were wonderful. It even reminded me of a cozy cafe back home in Jersey. I’ll definitely be coming back—loved everything about it!
