I recently dined at Hong Kong Restaurant in Virginia Beach, and it was an exquisite culinary experience. The flavors of their Chinese dishes were truly exceptional, leaving me convinced that it might be some of the best tasting Chinese food I’ve had in a while. From the savory General Tso’s chicken to the perfectly seasoned fried rice, each dish showcased a remarkable balance of taste and freshness. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive service further enhanced the overall dining pleasure. Hong Kong Restaurant has undoubtedly become my go-to spot for outstanding Chinese cuisine in Virginia Beach. Highly recommended!

Visiting my family for Christmas and Chinese food on Christmas Eve is a staple. I searched for New York style Chinese food and found this restaurant. Really good crab rangoon and boneless spare ribs, just like I like them. The golden chicken fingers were reminiscent of my favorite place in MA too. The rice was too light, I like it dirtier. They were swamped which is great but the 45 minute estimate turned into 2 hours, just beware. There is no dine in because each table was occupied by people waiting. Overall, it met expectations but it's not my home location.

Ordered here today (on Christmas) fully expecting this establishment to be busy, since they are one of the only places open. The woman who answered the phone informed us that it would take 30 minutes for our order to be ready for pick up. We arrived 10 minutes after the 30 minute window (trying to give them extra time) and fully expected to wait another 15-20 minutes to account for holiday craziness. Over 2 hours later, we still had recieved no food - with some people having waited there even longer than us. While I understand the staff was overwhelmed (looks like tonight they were staffed by one cook) they were STILL TAKING ORDERS, accepting payment, and when asked by customers what the wait time was they responded with, "we will try our best" before disappearing. We finally asked for the woman working the counter for a refund, she asked for the last 4 digits of our phone number, and dissappeared for another 20 minutes - assuming they were trying to force us to "wait it out" - yey still, no food. When we asked for a refund again, we were then told, "your food is being bagged right now". After waiting for almost 2 hours in restaurant, we were given our food. Hands down, worst food service experience of my life.Edit to add: the food was absolutely incredible. So disappointed our wait experience was so bad

Friendly service, DELICIOUS food. We got boneless spare ribs, chicken teriyaki, crab Rangoon, orange chicken, general tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli, and egg rolls. All very good.
