Outstanding service. We went back the next day and our server not only remembered us, but the table, drinks, etc. Rare and impressive. Had a very good cheeseburger and pretty good fish and chips. The “soul train” soundtrack was a bit off to the otherwise hunt club atmosphere.

Declan was the best server we have had at The Hunt Room— absolutely elevated our whole experience. Very personable and great recommendations. We will be requesting to have him serve us at our rehearsal dinner next year. The food and drinks are also unmatched here!

Wonderful setting in an old style hunting tavern. Food was excellent and service was even better.

We had a Vivacious waitress with good recommendations... We started with the delicious oyster appetizer. My husband enjoyed his venison. My browned salmon was excellent. I was not crazy about my Paloma cocktail, but my husband enjoyed his two wine selections. We skipped dessert because we had his birthday cake at home. It was a perfect place to celebrate his 80th birthday.

We were disappointed. We expected more of a traditional "club like" atmospehere based on the photos and promo commentary, but wound up with a very, very high noise level sports bar type atmosphere, instead. (The large screen TV over the fireplace is conveniently omitted from any ads). The food, by-and-large, was very good, except for the green bug in my wife's salad (which was returned immediately before she started eating it). Draft brews were excellent. The appearance of the restaurant "greeter" (i.e. purple hair and rugby shirt) as well as some of the male waiters and bus boys helped drive an ambience 180 degrees from what we expected. Long wiats for courses to be served. Restauarnt clearly understaffed. Net: Food very good. Service: Very slow. Ambience; Your local sports bar. (staff and nooise level)

Went for the 1st time to celebratemy birthday. . Server Declan was awesome. Chili was absolutely delicious. I'd eat it everyday. Drinks were ok. My venison and shrimp were cooked well. The bourbon cheesecake was also....to die for. Overall, great experience.

We booked a table at the Hunt Room months in advance, but when we arrived there seemed to be confusion among the host staff about seating us. After a short wait, we were led to a table in a very high-traffic area. When we asked about a different table, the host simply shrugged, which was disappointing. The restaurant was also quite noisy, which made conversation difficult. Our meal started off rocky when we ordered the ginger carrot soup but were served chili instead. To his credit, our waiter quickly apologized and explained that the kitchen signage had caused the mix-up. Unfortunately, drinks are only served in cans, so there are no refills—a surprise for a restaurant of this caliber. On the positive side, the burger, fries, and slaw were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The classic Reuben, however, was a letdown. Although the menu notes the corned beef is house-made, it lacked flavor, was fatty, and fell apart with each bite. Kudos to our waiter, who was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely apologetic about both the soup mistake and the soda situation. His service was the highlight of the evening. Overall, while there were bright spots, the uneven food quality, noise level, and unhelpful host left us unsure if we'll return to the Hunt Room on our next visit to the Cavalier.

This was our first time dining in the Hunt Room. It could not have been any better, A+++. The venue was perfect, service from Billy and Debbie was exceptional, and the food and drinks were divine.

Very gorgeous place, the food was delicious and the portions were actually quite large. The drinks were nice too. I feel like this place is advertised as a more intimate quiet cozy place, so we weren't expecting it to be so loud and informal, but we still enjoyed our dinner. Felt almost more like a sports bar.

I was somewhat disappointed with our dining experience at the Hunt Room and have dined there many times previously. I reserved a table a week in advance for a special occasion. We were placed in the bar right up against bar patrons and people standing all over the area. It was noisy and not the warm and intimate setting that I expected, and have experienced previously. The birthday was never acknowledged . We felt that we were not given the original table assigned but rather a bar table opened and we were haphazardly placed there out of convenience. I would have expected a higher level of service for a reservation made well in advance and certainly for the quality expected from The Cavalier.

Only one complaint. The duck breast enter had too many greens about half the plate. There was hardly any seeet potato puree.

Great venison steak with a perfect sear and rare center. Waiter helpful and attentive. Will definitely be back

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Virginia Beach the service, food and ambiance is top notch. I definitely recommend the wedge salad and the venison was delicious. Can't wait until next year!
