Great venison steak with a perfect sear and rare center. Waiter helpful and attentive. Will definitely be back
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Virginia Beach the service, food and ambiance is top notch. I definitely recommend the wedge salad and the venison was delicious. Can't wait until next year!
A great find! The food was good - reasonable priced and atmosphere was super. Can't wait to return.
The steak was cold and dry at least 3 days old. The mac and cheese was so salty we could t eat it the brussel sprouts were cold.
Great drinks, reasonably priced. Extensive menu with something for everyone, and everything on there is excellent. It is noisy, and crowded in tourist season, but they take reservations. Just be aware that you have to use the valet parking, which is at minimal cost....but well worth the price of the meal.
We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and walked in to find both hosts on their phones and seemingly disinterested in doing their jobs in general. We were promptly seated and waited on very quickly by a very nice waitress (unable to get her name due to the noise). The environment was very loud making it hard to carry on a conversation across the table. Drinks and food were ordered and came out in very good time. The fish and chips was not bad, but not good (we try fish and chips at almost every restaurant we go to). The special pork belly tacos were fantastic. All three drinks were also fantastic. Dessert was a bourbon cream cheesecake that we didnt know if we would have room for, but with how good it was, we made room. Overall, I would definitely go back to try different dishes, I think for the price, it is definitely a go to.
I think this is a decent place inside a gorgeous hotel. Definitely feel there are better options especially for the price. My main reason is the service. Bartender was very unprofessional and ill trained in the to serve a$200 bottle of wine
Great atmosphere, the cocktail program is awesome, mostly bourbon/whiskey focused, but the back bar won't disappoint any cocktail aficionados. The staff behind the bar, Matt, James and Dillon are very talented mixologists craft excellent drinks. The food is game and seafood oriented. All of the appetizers and main dishes I have had are well prepared. Recently I had the beet salad and roasted salmon, both great. I can highly recommend the Hunt Room, but make a reservation to make sure you get in.
Service was excellent as always. Staff is very knowledgeable about the restaurant, distillery and menu. Food is outstanding. So good I don't want to tell people because it will make it even harder to get a reservation.
Jay was our waiter he was great! My husband had the rock fish he loved it. I had the venison it was a little tough but the crab cake and sides were delicious. The cheesecake sauce was amazing.
Restaurantji Recommends
The food was very mediocre nothing special about it. Our server was nice but she kept getting missing and taking a long time to bring drinks. The rice that came with the fresh catch was very hard.
The Hunt Club was a great dining experience! Casey, our server, was very attentive. Food was delicious and the restaurant was cozy!
My wife and I had dinner here for anniversary and it was great. Had preordered a bottle of champagne for the table it came out as soon as we arrived. Had oysters Rockefeller and then a filet and both were great. Service was excellent also. Would highly recommend
The food at the Hunt Room was very disappointing. Service and drinks were good, but the majority of the food was not good. The spinach artichoke dip had a terrible consistency, the cheese had fully split and it was like a thick layer of chewing gum and oil. We don’t like to complain, but we had to send it back. The pretzel bite was an undercooked piece of dough, the waitress said it was more of a biscuit than a pretzel. The bacon and pickle/cheese curd appetizers were okay. The braised short rib french dip was greasy and tasted more like dry pot roast , the sandwich was sitting in a puddle of grease . The duck was unevenly cooked and the fat was not seared. The Reuben was a generously sized sandwich , the marbled rye bread was good but the corn beef was very salty and the sandwich was skimpy on the sauerkraut. The hunt burger was dry with a soggy bun. The coleslaw was just cabbage and mayonnaise. Nothing tasted fresh. The Hunt Room is a nice environment to grab a drink, but dine elsewhere.
We went for the happy hour. The vibe is great. Food was amazing. Great whiskey selection. Service was great at first and then we felt like we were forgotten. The bus boy circled the tables frequently and was on top of everything but the waitress mostly hung out at the bar talking to others. I would still go back and maybe get better service.
