Always a wonderful meal at Isle of Cari with the best ever waiter, Az. Best Ceaser salad anywhere!
We came to Virginia Beach for the Neptune Festival despite the inclement weather. We had planned on maybe an afternoon on the beach-it happened! After reviewing the menu and the location we decided to reserve a table. We had not planned on much more than swimwear, t-shirts, flipflops and and shorts for the weekend. Once at the entrance we were informed of the policy. That should have been reinterated at the reservation. It was 8:30pm...we were starving. We were not even offered the option of ordering something to go. I would have even purchased two "collared/no logo" shirts if they had been offered. Disappointing is an understatement.
The food and drinks at the Isle of Capris were outstanding. We had calamari appetizer which was lightly breaded and simply delicious, tableside Caesar salad that was amazing and the server did a fantastic job of explaining her every move in making it! I had the risotto special and my husband had a veal dish that were both well executed. Nice wine list and well made cocktails. The only critique I have is the front end crew who made my husband leave and change his shirt because it had a vineyard vines logo on it. Apparently they have a strict dress code which i think should be clearly spelled out in the numerous text and email reminders you get for your reservation. However as the night went on, others were allowed in with logo-ed T shirts, so not too sure where their consistency is. That being said, once you are at your table the service and food you receive in the dining room outweighs the arrogant behaviors of the girls in the front. We would go back, and husband would wear a plain shirt to avoid the humiliation.
We were celebrating our anniversary and Isle of Capri is our favorite. We enjoyed the Caesar salad and it is the BEST. We also order the shrimp franchise ! Look forward to our next visit.
I have extensive knowledge of the Culinary experiences and I must say that Isle of Capri isn't the place to offer you one! I ordered Fra Diavolo dish which is a Spicy pasta dish with seafood and in this case Clams and Shrimp with Linguine pasta. The lack of this place's culinary expertise became quite evident when they served the dish with a thick Puréed Tomato sauce(the sauce they put in a little bowl and served with Calamari) instead of a much lighter tomato sauce. I had a few bites and left the rest of the plate untouched! My daughter ordered Pasta with Alfredo Sauce and chicken and her experience wasn't much better since she left her entire plate untouched. Per my daughter's request, I didn't mention anything until the waiter inquired about it and Sadly even though he saw the plates were almost untouched, he didn't put two and two together to offer something different. He told us that he has been working there for 20 years. Their Cesar salad was prepared in front of us and was very good and the views were pleasant.
Isle of Capri is the best restaurant the beach has to offer. My husband and I treat ourselves by going there for special occasions and to show out of town guests the beautiful ocean view from the sixth floor while enjoying exceptional food and service. We have tried most items on the menu and have never had a disappointing meal. The table side Caesar salad is impressive and a superb way to start the dining experience. The servers are professional and friendly ~ we always ask for Don but he can be in high demand and all the other servers we have had have been excellent. The prices reflect the excellence you can expect, so not a restaurant for an everyday evening out. But worth every penny when going out for a special occasion.
The view and food were fantastic. Highly recommend the table-side Caesar, one of the best Italian restaurants in VA Beach.
Wanted to have a cocktail at the bar before going to our table since we were early for our reservation. However the bartender was clearly overwhelmed and didn't even get us a drink before our table was ready. She said in a non-friendly way that she would be with us in a few minutes. We were the only 2 at the bar and it was only 6:45pm and restaurant was not crazy busy. Major turnoff. Luckily our waiter was great and the food was delicious.
We were in Virginia Beach on vacation and was looking for a nice restaurant to go to on our last night. Someone recommended The Isle of Capri, so I made reservations and we went and we had a very nice evening. Would definitely go there again if we are in the Virginia Beach area
The Caesar salad continues to be the BEST anywhere by a large margin. This did not disappoint and may have been the best ever. Made at your table, homemade croutons, crisp romaine. It's just perfect. I had the sword fish special and my wife had the shrimp in a delicious sauce. I try different items but my wife generally gets the shrimp. We have yet to be disappointed

Normally, this restaurant is very good with service however their printer broke and our order never reached the kitchen until an hour after it was submitted. The wait was extremely long. The food, however, once it was served, was excellent. The waiter did comp our coffees as a goodwill gesture. Also, what I found very annoying was constant loud singing of Happy Birthday throughout the evening by a staff member. Could there have been that many birthday tables in one evening??
The place was very elegant and the view of the beach is amazing. I highly recommend making reservations. I wasn't able to see the whole restaurant but it seemed like a small space. If you plan on booking for a big party I would make sure if they can accommodate your party.
Amazing place! Worth the price!!
I don't know how my wife found this place but I'm glad she did!
It's colocated with a hotel and they have complimentary valet parking!
The restaurant is on the 6th floor and they have their own dedicated elevator. This gives the restaurant seating an amazing view of the beach!!
The waiting room was cozy though on the cold side. Our seat was amazing facing the beach with large windows in on front of us.
The food was really good and they do have a dessert menu, which I find a little weird that it's not listen on their website.
Fancier place than your average restaurant but the price is reasonable and worth it!

Classic Italian restaurant. Celebrated my birthday here August 18th! I had the shrimp Lumbardo. Delicious! And a big island of Capri salad. Nice bread and butter. Excellent cocktails. Our server was great. Took care of us like family. The vibe is dress up and look your best. Let the evening at Isle of Capri take you away in delicious food and great drinks and excellent service. Enjoying!!
