2 stars only because the intention and follow up did occur . I called to inquire of a whole tres leches cake . I wanted to order one for my mom’s birthday and the tres leches cake came recommended . Spoke with one of the managers, Celia, who said the orders come from their Norfolk location and they only had 1 in stock but should be getting more later on in the afternoon, which would be more fresh. I was promised a phone call back around 12:30. I did not get a phone call so i called around 2:30 pm . The guy on the other line did not understand me and hung up on me . I called several times after and explained to him that the manager was going to call me about a tres leches cake etc. He then proceeds to cut me off and say call the Norfolk location for that and if I’m waiting on a call from the manager then just wait for her call . I explained my conversation to him again with the manager that the intention was to notify me and place a cake aside for me since i live closer to VB and they were expected to get a new shipment. He then says I’ll just text her and just wait for her call . I disconnected with him and a few minutes later the manager calls me and says the order didn’t come in and she has notified her employees to let her know if their truck comes in today or tomorrow . She promised that i would get a call today or the latest tomorrow. I told her thank you and then a few minutes later she calls and says her truck is expected to be there in 15 minutes.i told her to please hold one for me and my husband can be there in that time frame. She said of course and next thing my husband gets there and the cake hadn’t arrived . He waited there for maybe 20 minutes and then was told by another employee that their driver is running errands and for him to come back tomorrow . It’s a shame . I wanted to actually buy this cake for my mom but the back and forth , the rude hang up on the phone , the smart remark to just wait for a call, and then the “truck driver will be there in 15 minutes “ and my husband waiting there for a good amount of time to just be told to come back the following day was too much of a hassle . Thank you to Celia for making it seem like the service was there but i have chosen elsewhere . Won’t be coming to this restaurant for anything anymore . I have had it once and the food is ok . Nothing spectacular and their food is overpriced . You can find much better service, food , and prices elsewhere.

The food was really great that the staff was really nice and helpful I will say though I will say though the first picture is of a birria burrito. You cannot eat the burrito like a burrito you had to cut it and eat it. The second one is there birria Ramen challenge you have to finish the whole plate including the broth in 30 minutes. And that plate can feed like 3 plus people, it is a lot.

While the food is great- do not expect service to accompany it. Ordered food to cater for a large group and was told that “plates” are not included. I guess the other 7 people will eat off the picnic table.
Been here before- will avoid in the future based off of this experience alone.

This was an amazing spot until yesterday…. Bought tacos which had no flavor but that wasn’t all. The sour odor from the meat …. Unfortunately I just can’t return as a regular customer….

First time we were disappointed in Jessy's. We had to seat ourselves, and get our own silverware. Drinks and food were great like always. Tiendita on the side was a hit with the pan dulce.

As someone who frequently delivers to this location, I’ve consistently noticed the same disappointing pattern: either orders are prepared extremely slowly, or certain people seem to get prioritized over others. Every visit feels cold no greeting, no acknowledgment, no sense that anyone is happy to see you. The atmosphere suggests stress and disorganization, and the customer service reflects that.

Here’s a word of advice: a welcoming environment attracts more hungry customers. People love to eat where they feel seen and appreciated. Even if you’re having a rough day, a simple smile or polite word can make all the difference.

There are hundreds of Mexican restaurants out there what makes yours stand out? In a time where empathy seems to be fading, a little warmth and hospitality could set you apart in the best way. Don’t underestimate the power of basic human kindness. It matters more than ever.

The fact that it’s still a 4 is hilarious even tho they fell off a lot. We started at the one on the blvd years ago, it was a hidden gem then. Then they blew up and of course, it started lacking a little. I got a burrito the other day, it used to come with lettuce and tomatoes on top, along with a chip in your beans. The presentation fell off but the steak 🤌🏾 saved it, the flavor was def there, it just didn’t look like it used to, sloppier. That being said, I’ll add them back to my rotation 😂

My first time eating at this restaurant since I was in Virginia for the first time ever and I want to say my husband( Puerto Rican American) and I(Mexican American) both loved the food here, very fresh, a good amount of food and friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back again!
