The fried whiting was seasoned well. The chicken was okay but the potato salad, cabbage and greens were not seasoned enough for me. We also tried the peach cobbler. I wasn't impressed but I know it can be difficult to impress me when it comes to soul food. The atmosphere is always the same: quiet but people in and out for to-go orders.

Came here because a friend said the fish was good. I got a tilapia dinner with cabbage and mashed potatoes and a side of crab cake. Unfortunately I ended up throwing most if it away.1. The cabbage was so peppery it burned my mouth.2. Fish was moist but very little seasoning at all.3. Crab cake had lots of meat but also lots of hard pieces of shell. Along with some soggy red pepper slices.4. The worst by far was the mashed potatoes which was grayish in color and tasted and smelled spoiled!Only good part was the lady at the front who was very polite. Definitely wouldn't go back. A waste of 30 bucks

Customer service was very poor today, I ordered my food in advance for my lunch and when I got there I stood in line for 15minutes just to wait to get the register and my order was wrong. I ordered in advance because I was on my lunch break and because the food was wrong. I then ended up being late going back to my employment. The lady at register didn't apologize for the inconvenience nor did she try to compensate me in anyway. After today it will definitely not return here anytime soon. Before I got to the store the food should have been checked to assure it was correct before I got there. Customer service poor

I went to Martin's Soul Food to celebrate my birthday with my ZETA Soror who was celebrating her birthday also. I wanted a chattering meal. It was delicious. The Mac and cheese was the best. I ate it like ice cream. The portions were filling. I had to take some home. Martin Soul Food you get 5 stars. If I could go higher I would. I was at The Janaf Shopping Center location. On the world it said Celebrating 10 years. I see why. You are the BEST SOUL FOOD RESTAURANT IN VIRGINIA! Keep up the good work. Be Blessed.

They should close this place DOWN! To wait all of this time for this food is crazy ! The gravy is not gravy, it’s water with some meat juice in it . No seasoning on the cabbage , and it was hard . One turkey wing for the dinner. (Normally 2 at restaurants ) I’ve given this restaurant so many chances . They should just close . There’s also always a deep pinesol smell in there . What are you guys covering up with that smell ? No one ever sits and eat n there for a reason .

I did NOT enjoy my food...ended up throwing it away. Baked chicken wings nasty, Greens Salty, Yams are straight out of the can! Even the bread roll was nasty. ?

The service is trash why do they take so long I am a delivery driver why do u think I want to wait 10 plus minutes for 5 dollars pay.. why not tell door dash you need more time or stop offering delivery all together if you can’t have orders ready like the soul food restaurant right next door shout out to queens for having better service. And considering dashers time.. stop offering delivery if you can’t get it together
