Wait time was not good. We waited to even be greeted at the door for awhile. Several staff walked by and didn't even greet us. It was not that busy either. Then when we were finally seated, we ordered. We waited about 25-30 minutes before we received our food. I ordered a veggie omelet with onions, red peppers and spinach. Hubby ordered an omelet as well. His had egg shells in it. Mine had HAM, mushrooms as well as the items I ordered in it. So if you're vegetarian...BEWARE. I took most of it home since it took so long to receive. When I had the leftovers the next day...EGG SHELLS! I was DONE.
So my cute, locals breakfast spot is no longer a place I want to go.
But the staff was super friendly once we actually spoke to anyone. But service was not what it used to be. Disappointed.

Buttered my pancakes and poured syrup all over them then looked closer and Ants! Ants all in the syrup. The waitress was nice enough about it but absolutely no discount on my meal. My husband was done with his way before they brought out a new plate for me. # eatingalone

Upon arrival, I stood there as four other people got seated before I was asked what my purpose was. I’ve been told them after watching them put my order on the bar 15 minutes ago finally asked me. I said I’m here for a takeout order. I weigh another 10 minutes as people are running around doing stuff for the third person to ask me. I tell him I’m here for a takeout they finally give me my food and it’s not what I ordered. I ordered a corned beef tray with bacon grits with cheese and butter eggs with cheese and a biscuit. My grits are cold. Did not have butter or cheese in them. I did not receive my bacon and the eggs were cold by the time that I received my order I called back to talk to a manager, sat on the phone for 15 minutes until the call hung up and disconnected will not be going back here anymore. This is my first time here and last time, I can’t believe how they treated somebody who’s in law-enforcement coming in to get food for the first time.

This restaurant is amazing! I come here for breakfast every morning of vacation. Kim and Karen are my favorite waitresses. The pancakes and mimosa flights are must haves.

Stopped in for breakfast, didn't disappoint! Clean restaurant, the staff is friendly. The food is hot and delicious. Tasty milkshakes!

Place was very busy and very loud! When our son was overstimulated by the noise and we asked to move outside they said no. Service and food were good tho!

My husband and I have been visiting Virginia Beach for the last 14 years. We always visit Mary's Kitchen while we are here. The food is good, lots of choices and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Love the atmosphere. We eat like a local! You won't be disappointed.

Today on 10-9-25 around 12:40pm I was excited to go eat lunch at Mary's. I met up with 3 co workers I haven't seen in a while for lunch and was happy to try a new restaurant. However after our party of 4 was seated. A waitress with short curly black hair(white woman) came over and asked everyone but me at my table what they wanted to drink and she walked away. As she walked away I said to her I'll talke a sweet tea as well. When the waitress came back with the drinks for our table she gave everyone what they ordered and gave me water. I again asked her for a sweet tea. She never came back to our table. This was indeed the first time I've ever felt racism come from another person directly to me.She completely ignored me.I would have left the restaurant but I was on my lunch and wanted to spend my time with co workers. This shouldn't matter but I was the only African American in my party of 4. This type of behavior from the service industry should not be tolerated and makes the business look bad. A server name Joy did come over and take care of our table she was kind and very friendly. I ordered the liver and rice and even did a take out order of the same. My food was good but the ignorance from this waitress was awful. Because of this one waitress, I have no interest in going back.
