This is the only Chinese food I have eaten in Virginia Beach for a couple decades. Yes, it is a takeout joint with a few tables but it is good food. The owner is awesome.

This No. 1 Chinese Restaurant is located in the Salem Crossing shopping area. It's mostly a take out place. Ordering by the quart is recommended. The food was quite flavorful. Like how there's a lot of mushrooms in the roast pork and mushrooms. The egg foo young had a lot of shrimp and fried rice.

Been having a hard time finding hunan beef with mixed vegetables and a good sauce.The portion was huge with a large container (not one of those tiny ones) of rice.It had my favorite combo of mixed vegetables: broccoli, snow peas, baby corn, onion, water chestnuts, carrots, mushrooms - all cooked tender and not hard or mushy.Very generous on sauce, which is perfectly spicy.

A fellow Veteran recommended I try the Mongolian beef… he and his wife said it’s their favorite Chinese restaurant. I went the very next day and didn’t see it on their menu…it’s listed on the wall. Very tasty! I’ll definitely buy it again. It was scallions and beef strips in a flavorful sauce…a little spicy and slightly sweet. Just right. I look forward to trying their lo mein and also their beef and broccoli because another customer in the restaurant said he orders them all the time and this restaurant is his favorite as well.
