My wife and I stopped in to grab a bite for lunch today 14 June 2025. When ordering our food the lady at the counter seemed to have a less than cordial demeanor. My wife places her order then I placed mine. I ordered the turkey hero. On the menu on the wall it stated it came with lettuce,tomatoes, onions, and pickles. She asked me if I wanted anything on it which I stated it says it comes with it but she then replied you need to tell me what you want on it. So I told her lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayo. She then asked me if I want it hot or cold. I told her hot. We get our order and head home. I'm getting ready to dig in and I noticed the sandwich looked more like an anorexic dud instead of hero. I opened it up and it was cold AND there was NO turkey! Was I supposed to ask for the turkey as well? Asking for a friend. Needless to say, we won't be going back to this establishment. I didn't go back to the store to let them know because they already had an attitude and didn't feel like dealing with that.

Still searching for bagels that you can get in a typical grocery store in New Jersey. Yet another failed attempt.

Combo of not enough texture on the outside to way too thick of a bagel.

Imagine also, if you order ahead online or are a delivery driver, you STILL have to wait in line in order to pick up the order. Completely defeats the purpose.

The cook clearly didn’t want to be there. To top everything off, my wife and I experienced food poisoning almost immediately.

Everything at NY bagel is top rate! They have a water system that makes the bagels taste just like my hometown in NY (really it's true!!)

I never heard of this restaurant but saw it and gave it a try. I have no regrets. 10/10, would recommend and will definitely be back.

I stopped in here after court in Norfolk. I was very impressed with the staff and the food options. The jalapeño and cheese bagel with turkey and veggies on it was phenomenal. I’ll definitely be back.

I am soooooo impressed by this little place!! Best bagel place in town, no doubt about it! The amount of options and the amount of food you get for the price is incredible. Thank you for the wonderful service and for the amazing and delicious food!! If you have never tried this place out IT’S A MUST!!! I promise you will NOT be disappointed!!! ⭐️

God awful environment to work in. Everyone had a nasty attitude all the time and the tall skinny cook always had some sort of attitude and didnt hesitate to let it out on the other employees. Food is alright though, I suggest you listen to the reviews about customer service and atmosphere.

The service has gotten worse over the past year for some reason. I waited over 45 minutes for an omelet and ended up having to have them leave a portion of my order out because it was taking so long. There doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency at all from any of the employees and poor organization if handle large mass orders. I highly doubt I will be returning which is very disappointing

Excellent bagels!
I came across them originally because they were the only bagel place near me that was open at 6am when I needed them. To my great pleasure the quality of the bagels was awesome, my favorite and barometer for good bagel place being the everything bagel… theirs is up there with some of my best. I brought them to my dental team(one of whom is from New Jersey) and kept getting asked where I got them. Great job NY bagel cafe! As Arnold would say… I’ll be back!

It's almost like walking into a NY deli. I have tried 6 different bagels and 3 different breakfast/brunch meals. all of them were awesome. The only thing that needs a little work is the home fries, not the greatest.
