Pelon's Baja Grill Oceanfront

Went and got a surfs up burrito. Was mostly refried beans. I’m not super mad because it’s been excellent before. Beware the food isn’t consistent and you might end up with a disappointing burrito.

Service was great! Very welcoming and a cool atmosphere. My kids loved their food and I was more than satisfied with the tacos! It would be cool if they would let you mix and match taco orders.

Too much noise, it wasn't possible to eat a meal and speak together

This has always been a great spot, and still is. I needed to take the time to write another review because whoever the manager or person working the register on 5/24/25 at 8:30pm was by far the most professional and kind person I have ever dealt with in the restaurant industry. We had a party of 4 adults and 2 babies under a year old, showed up 30 mins before close and this guy went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I hope the owners see this and give him the props he deserves, he’s a big reason we’ll keep coming back (plus the food is great!)

I decided to revisit Pelon's for lunch because it had been about 15 years since my last visit. I wasn't a big fan back then but WOW, what a fantastic experience I had this time! The service was great. A young man helped me decide what to order and he was super nice and helpful. The Surf & Turf burrito was one of the best burritos I've ever eaten. It was stuffed FULL of shrimp and the most delicious steak strips. It needed no sauces all, it was burrito perfection. I'm definitely impressed with the current Pelon's, as well as my husband (he got a couple bites of the burrito). Can't wait to go back!

The negative reviews speak for themselves, and the company's responses speak volumes. Deeply disappointing and repulsive.

Very good! I had been to the location by Nimmo before and enjoyed the fish tacos there so I came here as I was close by. I swapped the corn tortilla for flour at a $.50 upcharge. I ordered 2 chicken and 2 fish. I couldn't eat the 4th one so I took it home. This is a walk up to the counter and order place. They give you a number and bring the food out. The line moved quickly. My only complaint was the ac was on really cold it was blowing right on us. I tried to move tables but it didn't help. Normally I like temp on colder side but it was 68 outside and nighttime so not sure why the ac was blowing so cold when the day had only been about 78-80. It won't keep me from going back.

Very good Mexican-American food. I had the asada tacos with corn on the cob. It was a happy hour for food, so I had 3 tacos instead of 2. Great food, great service. I spent around $16–$20. My friend had happy hours shrimp tacos, and she said that it was very good.

Had the California Burrito and the Carne con queso burrito. Both were delicious. Atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly. Highly recommend this place

My favorite spot for food after the beach. actually, my favorite place in Virginia Beach. Tacos and burritos are delicious. Fish tacos are the bomb. Affordable. Great beer selections.

Always enjoy Pelon's. Good food, quick service.

If you are looking for San Diego style burritos, this is the place!

I wanted everything on the menu. So thankful for the vegan options. We tried the burrito bowl, “carne asada” fries, and nachos. Everything was delicious AND the horchata…YUM. Can’t wait till our next visit.
