This place is pretty much a dump. Breakfast for 2 totaled 43.00 and it wasn’t very good. Soggy bacon, I piece of toast that was barely toasted, no ice tea or regular tea. Orange jelly only. If you took the time to read this review, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

My husband and I stumbled onto this restaurant today. The food was excellent! Our server, Natalie was exceptionally pleasant and gave us great service. I highly recommend Pier 23 Restaurant in VA Beach!

We went here labor day weekend so it was expected to be a slow dine with how busy it was. Food came out claw my eyes out slow, drinks arrived 20-30 minutes ilafyer being seated, they were out of bagels, fresh fruit, creamer and home fries. No silverware was brought to the table even after our food arrived...

If you are into beach, grunge, with cute waitresses that are dingy and confused then this shack is ok. They work hard but they have communication issues between what is ordered and what is prepared to the table. Average chef skills at best, pancakes are tough like rubber , breakfast potatoes are burned and oily, and don’t waste time ordering fruit. Our experience was horrible but we tipped anyway, just being kind. A thank you would be great, but no. Then I check out and lady owner adds another gratuity (she didn’t know I left an 20%cash tip anlready) and then a service fee then gave me $3.00 discount ?! So weird. If you got 10 bucks and a quick meal is fine, cool. But it is a 1 star at best. Think smaller , dirty little Dennys or IHOP.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS PLACE! Charged 15% gratuity for more than 1 person and didn't tell us! Then proceeded to ask us to add a tip, so they got even more money. Tourist trap with 3.99% service fee too.

Food was good and the bartender was nice but she brought my aunt a random extra drink that was unasked for and was so powerful after two drinks, she fell and smashed her whole face open in the parking lot on day 2 of a 5 day vacation. Concussed and whole face injured with no memory the next day. Im not sure what happened to that drink but two mudslides with vodka and kahlua shouldn’t leave a person acting like they got roofied.

I was expecting to get a fried tilapia ? with rice, salad and pico de gallo Latino restaurant right not a tilapia piece with no flavor ? come on mi gente. Tacos we good i have to trash the tilapia dish and share tacos with my kid no worth the money I paid. I don't recommend tilapia dish but yes to the tacos.

I cannot recommend avoid this place enough. Our final day of our honeymoon we went for breakfast. Got seated plenty fast, placed our order and then sat. We watched another couple get seated, order, complain about the wait, eat, pay and leave before we were checked on again.

Finally someone other than our waiter came by, asked and we gave our order again. Once we were almost done eating our waiter finally came back and apologized blaming the kitchen. It was very clearly not the kitchen's fault, he never put the order in, but had no trouble blaming someone we cannot interact with.

It is no surprise that they put a 15% gratuity on the bill, our waiter in particular wouldn't be getting much in tips otherwise.

Avoid this place, make them fix the problems.

I tried their hamburger and was pleasantly surprised. It was very good, and so were the onion rings. The service was great as well.
