I live two blocks away and would love to have good, reliable restaurants in the Shadowlawn area so we don’t have to walk farther for decent food. Unfortunately, Pizza Chapple was a major disappointment.
The first thing I heard upon walking in was two staff members debating how to store pizza dough—whether it should be left out or put in the fridge. That’s basic food safety, and a place serving the public shouldn’t be improvising something that fundamental. It immediately raised concerns about whether there are any established procedures at all.
When I commented that it didn’t seem like much care was being taken, one employee responded with an aggressive, profanity-filled remark, making it clear he didn’t care. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable in any customer-facing business.
Rather than risk my health, I chose to leave and eat elsewhere, similar to why I stopped going to Beach Bella Pizza.
Shadowlawn deserves better local options. I hope ownership takes food handling, training, and customer service more seriously.

Sat at this place for 2 hours and still did not get our food. Multiple different family’s got there food before us. The pizza was not very good for that long of a wait.

Grossly overpriced and generally terrible food. The meatball sub was inedible and both pizzas were burnt to a crisp. I ordered a $5 side of waffle fries and there were maybe 4 of them in the to-go box…
Pizza was burned. They were out of mushrooms, garlic powder and anchovies. The ladies room had no lights, and they were totally out of toilet paper. We have been coming here for years don’t know what happened. We won’t be back.

Good beer, great pizza, friendly staff.
The pizza was better than the franchises. A solid option for when you want an easy pizza meal.
We did a pick up order for 3 pizzas. They must have forgotten about the 3rd pizza because I arrived after online order’s stated pick up time, waited 15 minutes, and still had to leave without the 3rd pizza bc it was going to be a longer wait. They refunded the pizza.
Looked like a cool local place inside

Off the beaten path in the vibe district, this place serves delicious pizza with great service. Our family took the server’s recommendation and had the chapel pizza- it hand a tangy sauce and springy, flavorful dough. We will definitely be adding this spot to our rotation. Best pizza in Virginia Beach!

Great locally owned place to have great pizza and wings. Love their house wings and the pizza is really good and kids approved. Definitely a place to have on your check list for local places to try. Very friendly people and welcoming athmosphere.

We typically love pizza chapel, however, it is slowly going down hill. We ordered from there a few months ago and waited FOREVER for our to go order. Food was good, but disappointed in the wait time. We’ve always loved pizza chapel, so we decided to give it another shot. We ordered a Stromboli, a pizza and 6 wings at 6:40- finally, we got our order at 7:50! When we got home we dug in and realized that we only got the top half of the Stromboli. Hopefully pizza Chapel becomes what it used to be.
If you're looking to escape the usual franchise pizzerias and dive into a true local gem, Pizza Chapel in Virginia Beach is the place to be. The wait for food was a bit long, but absolutely worth it. The wings and onion rings were a standout—crispy, flavorful, and just what I was craving. The pizza itself had a deliciously crunchy crust and a homemade taste that set it apart from mass-produced options. The bartender provided great customer service, making sure I felt welcomed and never ignored. Overall, I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5—the wait was a downside, but everything else delivered exactly what I’d expect from a great mom-and-pop shop.

The Pizza is good and quick for Togo orders and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint is the bottle drinks are warm but overall a good place
