There was 4 of us. The white sauce for the chips was so spicy we couldnt eat it. The waiter couldnt understand English to bring us something different. The Fajitas we got were awful. I will never go back to that Plaza Azteca again and Ive been to a few where the food and service was good. Not this one on Laskin Road.
The people are uber friendly. Server was great even with having us as a big group and other tables. The food was flavorful and worth the visit.
I felt this was a great restaurant ? loved what we ordered. Our server was so polite and took a great happy approach with us!
I had the best experience here. Number 1 dollar tacos on Tuesday! (I got 4). They had a lot of meat 3x as much as Taco Bell. A lot of cheese and a lot of toppings. My cost was only 4.13! And I got a huge full bags of chips that were so crunchy and they had great white sauce with the chips
Waiter was great, food had some odd and not so great flavors. White sauce (one of my favorite things about Mexican restaurants in VA) was not good at all. We had their version of chorizo dip as an appetizer.... not at all what I expected. I'm used to a bowl of cheese dip with some chorizo sausage mixed in. This was a pile of chorizo with barely any cheese and the cheese that was there was fried to the bottom of the skillet. I was getting really skeptical what our main dishes would be like by this point. I had the Chori Pollo which also has chorizo on it... same odd flavor as the appetizer so i just scraped that off. Chicken and rice were OK.
I meet a friend when I go to the beach and the choice is always Plaza. The portions are huge and we are stuffed when we leave. Service is great as well. Drinks are awesome. I can't wait to go back
Amazing staff! Great environment. Definitely a place to go. The margaritas are fantastic. Food is always great. Our waitress was super friendly and stayed on top of our drinks. Junior is always so welcoming. It's like visiting family when we go.
Hubby and I ate here for dinner and it was good! No wait, staff was friendly and food was delicious.
Great food and drinks. Enjoyed the atmosphere. There are other reasons for the 4 star but ultimately what pushed it down was that they use Hunts instead of Heinz.
We are regulars here... and we met some family here last weekend.. party of 7... and the food for 7 was served with a smile and it was all served HOT... and for a busy Saturday evening we didn't have much wait for a table. Also... always have CLEAN BATHROOMS!!!!!

Love the chips and white sauce!! The white sauce and chips were awesome again! The enchiladas were just ok. The red sauce wasn't as good as other authentic Mexican restaurants and the consensus of the group of 12 we had with us was that the food was bland.
The service was great and the salsa was too. My seafood chimichangas, not so much. The lobster sauce had a weird smell and real fishy taste. I love seafood, but the filling didn't come off right. I took a to go box of the other chimi as scraps for the pets, but the smell in my air conditioned truck made my stomach flip and had to find a trash can ASAP.
Worst Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. The beans were so disgusting my friend and I didn't even eat them. And we had a coupon for $5 off that didn't even save us money. The bill originally came to $43 and change and after they took off the coupon it came to $49 ? That makes no sense to me, especially considering the food was garbage. I would not recommend going to this location.
With so many options for Mexican around here, this Plaza Azteca was nothing memorable. The food was decent and prepared well just nothing Special. And who puts lemon lime soda in Margaritas???? #&%$@^. Service tonight seemed forced, staff was not very friendly... I Typically like Plaza Azteca, but this particular location has not impressed me on either of my visits...
We came here on a Monday night because we thought it would not be busy which was the case, but our food was aweful and we’ve eaten here in the past I don’t really know what happened. Everything we eat tasted like they poured a container of salt on it and I was still tasting softly next morning. I had a quesadilla and something tasted wrong even with the tortilla itself. My wife had a chicken dish instead of being a piece of chicken breast cut up it was all these little chicken balls and she ordered hers with the mixed summer vegetables and instead they brought fajita vegetables which was not even offered as the menu item she ordered. The had to change them. When they were brought out they lasted like they were just microwaved not cooked or sautéed. The whole dish was absolutely an edible and my wife sent back and just ate some of her rice and beans. The only thing that was a very distance with the guacamole it’s really hard to ruin that and that was decent. I don’t know what happened to this place but will never go back there again. Our waiter couldn’t didn’t seem to communicate, his English is so lacking couldn’t even handle taking our order. Afterwords the manager said he was new. For me that doesn’t cut it and he should be walking around with another server getting trained
