“ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The rice and gandules is top tear! Better than my Titi. (Don’t tell her I said that) I kept saying “oh my god” as I ate ! The empanadas were so good definitely recommend both beef and chicken! I grew up in the Tri State Area and eating here made me feel like I was back home. I need a tray of that rice for thanksgiving papa!“

“An impromptu stop at the newest location in Ocean View in Norfolk recently did not disappoint! Having dined many times at the original Holland Rd VB location we were already expecting an on point experience! The decor, hostess, bar service and -ambiance were all warm & inviting. We started our visit with handcrafted MANGO MOJITO w/ fresh mint & Cheese EMPANADAS.. Two golden flaky fried pastry were cooked perfectly, oozed warm cheese, & accompanied by a creamy tomato & a spicy green dipping sauce.. Dinner choice tonight was the Shrimp Mofongo w/ Garlic sauce. A huge perfectly seasoned, & fried basket of mashed plantains held a mix of grilled onions, garlic, peppers & shrimp . The grilled veggies & shrimp were nestled inside the crisp plantain basket and all sat in a pool of more garlic broth, perfect for soaking every savory bite in ! Since the portion was so ample, it was enjoyed once more for lunch the next day. Desserts of Tres Leches cake & Flan will have to be enjoyed NEXT visit as we were stuffed & satisfied our expectations for this location were totally delivered on . “Attention food lovers in EC, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, if you have not been to this incredible restaurant you do not know what you are missing. El Borincano Restaurant is a tiny little restaurant that you have to go to. Not fancy at all but who cares when you find a place like this. Puerto Rican cuisine that is true and authentic. For Josh Tick and I it was worth the hour plus drive. My bad habit is to eat too fast. Here with each bite I closed my eyes and smiled. The food I had so enjoyed for so many years and missed the incredible taste was all here. Stuffed but had to have dessert too. Ordered enough to take some home, should have ordered a truck load. We will drive again and again. The service was awesome too. So kind and patient as I could not make my mind up going through the menu.“
