Traveling in the area and tried on the recommendation of a Military Aviation Museum employee who shared once the BBQ here is gone for the day it's gone.We ordered burnt ends, brisket, a couple ribs, and pulled pork - and sampled all the sauces. The meats had good smoke flavor, and we enjoyed the House Sauce and the Sweet Mesquite the best.The collards and BBQ baked beans were both unexpectedly unique but still really good.Friendly staff. Great Service.

When I first arrived I felt welcomed but after being greeted by a dark haired older woman at the cash register who took my order I felt like I was an inconvenience more then a customer. She was really snobby and the price of the food was out ravenous. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless they had Donald Trump money...

Stopped in after wanting to try Pungo Boys for a while. I opted for the taco special with all the fixings--a couple of brisket and pork, cheddar cheese, slaw, sour cream, and avocado slices with a side of hushpuppies. Their hot BBQ sauce wasn't spicy at all but had good flavor. Everyone was super friendly, with plenty of parking and seating inside. My takeaway looked and smelled so amazing I decided to eat it right there. The pulled pork was great, and I enjoyed the slaw. The brisket left something to be desired; it lacked flavor. I'll give their brisket another chance next time, as consistency is so subjective. The hushpuppies were OK - next time, I'll try another side. Pungo Boys' pork BBQ beats Dave's. However, Dave's brisket is far superior. I will visit again soon and update my review.

I cannot give anything but high praise to ALL the food made and sold by the Pungo Boys. These entrepeneurs got together from all over Va. Beach and Pungo, Va., and came up with the BEST BBQ pork and brusquely east of the Mississippi!!! All the sides are just as delicious. Creamy, cheesy, cheese macaroni to die for, hush puppies, the best Cole slaw I have ever had, and more!!! I give Pungo Boys 200% for friendliness, service, excellent food! We get their BBQ often!!! These guys aren't just good entrepeneurs.... They do the cooking and serving themselves!!! Impressive!! Eat in or take out. Lunch or dinner!!

On Vacation and drove by so i thought I would stop. Ordered the burnt ends and I can say I was very disappointed. Im standing at the counter waiting and I see the cook with my tin of burnt ends heating them up with a propane blow torch. What the hell is that ! At first glance they look good but certainly I am disappointed right away. $20 for 5 pieces of burnt ends. Are you kidding me. If I hadn't paid I would have walked out once I seen the portion and heating up with a torch. The barbaque sauce was definitely not homemade. tasted more like Sweet baby rays. Im not sure how this place has 4.8 out of 5 but I would not go back again if ever in the area.

Stopped here on a whim. Great bbq. Meat was fall apart tender and very flavorful. Sauces were good. My fav was sweet mesquite. Had the hush puppies, Cole slaw, mac 'n cheese and baked beans. Had to get a second order of hush puppies, yes that good! And don't forget banana pudding. Fresh bananas, creamy... didn't want to share! Don't miss this bbq gem!

Got the brisket grilled cheese, a sliced brisket sandwich, hush puppies that were a special, and collards just to say our party didn't eat completely unhealthy. Everything was awesome. The brisket was wonderful with and without cheese. The hush puppies had that little outer shell crunch and were so soft inside. The collards were a great escape from the indulgence.
