We enjoyed our evening at Quemar, but it did not live up to the hype. It is very dark, but that's just me talkin'. Others may like it that way. The bar is very cozy, with plush sofas and chairs. Isaiah (bartender) was great, very friendly and the drinks were really good. We hit Quemar on an extended happy hour night so what's not to like? Once we moved to the dining room things changed somewhat. Our waiter wasn't pleased with our behavior, as we hadn't seen each other in a while and were enjoying catching up. He came to the table of number of times but we were not ready to order. We did ask for suggestions which he gave us a good one. The yucca appetizer was the hit of the evening, you must try it. Other than that our entrees were good but not as good as we expected, based on the raves of our friends. We will return, but most likely stay at the bar and enjoy our drinks and food there. There is only valet parking, so bring some cash.

Where do i start.. The food being the absolute best, because it's gourmet, Healthy! The staff was, in and of itself, an experience of the ultimate kind of elegance, and the atmosphere was down low lights, and once you adjusted, everything was in a whole other space

Quemar exceeded all my expectations! From the valet parking to the service, everything was smooth and professional. We went to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. Our server, Abby, was truly exceptional kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The margarita and mojito were delicious, and the food was absolutely amazing full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Can’t wait to go back!

This is upscale Mexican food. They had really good vegetarian options. The downside is the parking lot is a hot mess. Seemed like the only option was valet. The location doesn't seem to have easy nearby parking either. But our server was awesome and I highly recommend the roasted beets.

We had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Our waitress, Toni, was absolutely amazing, sweet, took her time explaining the menu to us, and made us feel really welcomed. We also found out she's a poet and author, which was such a cool and inspiring detail to learn during our visit. She truly made the experience feel personal and special. The general manager even surprised us with a complimentary appetizer since it was our first time dining here which was such a thoughtful touch! And the food? 10/10 across the board. Everything was delicious. Great service, great energy, and great food. We'll definitely be back when in VA Beach again!

What a memorable experience. It was our first time going but came highly recommended. We were there for our anniversary. We were greeted kindly and our waitress was kind, attentive, and informative. This being our first time the executive chef came over and provided a complimentary guac tostada's that were delicious. Knowing we were there for our anniversary he also sent out two flutes of champagne. Such an elegant and kind gesture. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri was delightful. Their mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and brussel sprouts were very tasty. Paired the night with some tequila and a perfectly crafted margarita. We finished the night off with some strawberry tres leches cake and couldn't be happier! We will be visiting regularly.
