Great Café, food and service!!!
The blonde bartender had the BEST service!! Very quick and attentive, she's my favorite at the beach! Make sure to ask for the slushies and add rum ;)
Best b fast spot around and Sarah is the best bartender at the beach. Great drinks and food and can't go wrong with a happy Gilmore themed restaurant
Staff is Amazing! Waitress is drop dead gorgeous! Food A+++ loco moco fire
If the food wasn’t amazing, the service was even better. A place that makes you feel at home, away from home. Greatest people we’ve met yet in VA Beach.
We were hoping for a nice local experience. The hostess sat us immediately and we were ignored by the wait staff for almost 20 minutes. Then, when we asked a waitress in our area, if we were her table, she gave us a nasty answer. Finally, someone comes over to take our order. The food comes out cold. Our waiter just kept disappearing. Not the experience we were hoping for.
I will not be going back.
Great food. Very welcoming by Donna the host, but unfortunately, the bartender provided subpar service. The blonde bartender needs to improve her hospitality skills and greet guests with a more positive demeanor. She seemed indifferent and neglected us for an extended period while we were seated at the bar.
Charming spot that opened at 8. It was a bummer that items on the daily specials were not available and the jam on the bacon jam omelette was missing. The stacked pancakes were good and the service was friendly and efficient.
So dissappointed. Part of the reason we go to Virginia Beach was breakfast at Ray Rays and beignets. Online said everything still available but it's not. We left after viewing menu.

Food was good server looked confused and ordering took a long time
so a group of my friends and i wanted to check someplace out to get brunch for my birthday, and after looking for inexpensive options that weren't fast food, i suggested that our group visited chubb's. google maps still shows chubb's as ray ray's at the mayflower when you look at the establishment on street view, but it has since been renamed to chubbs. we were a little confused because of this and i even almost thought the establishments were two different places - but they're not.
i called in ahead of time to ask if they had space for 8 of us to sit in, and the person who responded over the phone - teri - was very kind.
for a party of our size, the food was inexpensive - usually, whenever i foot the bill when we eat out in a non-fastfood place, i expect food to cost $200-300. but the food cost here was inexpensive, delicious, and filling - i only spent a little over a hundred twenty dollars. the item names were also hilarious, my friends were cracking up over ordering a quickie (lol).
i would say that we were a little disappointed to find that there were not many filipino delicacies like ray ray's had since the only thing on the menu that was vaguely filipino was lechon, but it was alright for us because we were just looking for a place to eat. if you want to go somewhere for filipino food in VB, i recommend going to felynn's, lumpia & co., or susan's kitchenette instead (and that's coming from a filipino person).
now that being said, the true highlight of our visit was the SERVICE. without staff's help our brunch visit here would have been a complete pain. we sat out front. when i went inside to pay my group's bill (using apple pay, because I didn't have my card on me), an older man came to my group to strike conversation. he seemed drunk, was making them uncomfortable, and because we're literally teenagers we just kind of stood there and tried to make do with what we could and expected this adult man to go away. when i got back to my group, he had already been with them for several minutes and was starting to get aggressive with one of my friends. i ushered two of my other friends, who were not interacting with him, to come ask for help. we got teri to come deal with him, but the situation escalated when we all went into the women's restroom and this man was trying to come in. he heard us talking about him while one of my friends was trying to use the toilet. luckily enough, teri came over and we heard her deescalate the situation outside the restroom. she was so stern and got him to leave the establishment and stop harassing us. yall better give that lady a RAISE. 😭😭 she even let us stay after closing to finish up our food after that fiasco.
we'll definitely revisit in the future to get a better experience from chubb's.
The service was excellent! The staff were personable and looked like they really enjoyed their job! That says a lot for the management!
Awesome local spot with great food. Must get the lechon with rice and gravy with eggs! Sarah behind the bar was awesome.
Service was FANTASTIC. The food portion sizes were actually reasonable and you could finish your entire meal and still be satisfied. The people that work here are all very nice and friendly. The menu has a bunch of funny names for their food and it is clear that the workers care about the business.
