Rudee's Restaurant and Cabana Bar

The food was ok, thought it would have tasted better and had more of a wow factor, but it didn’t. But the reason for this review is that the place was dirty. The chair rail moulding had dried food on it which was right next to my wife’s plate where she was eating. Someone needs to go through the entire restaurant weekly and clean and wipe down the walls, mouldings, and baseboards. It’s a very good location but you really shouldn’t have to look at dirty walls and chair rail mouldings with dried food on it. Now we were inside your restaurant, not outside. Also, you advertise real lobster on your lobster roll, it was not. It was imitation lobster and had not taste to it. Very disappointed.

Great location and ambiance. However, for the prices I expect food with flavor. Absolutely none of the seafood had any flavor. The shrimp and scallops were rubbery with no taste, the fish tasted like just plain flour dipped, and the crab cakes were overly dry and plain. The only good things were the hush puppies. Heard rave reviews about this place and was excited to go, but sadly was disappointed.

NOPE. Prime rib, tough. Baked potato- stale - pretty sure it was from the day before. Mixed vegetables, steamed out of a bag- Tasteless and flat. Worse than a cafeteria meal. They put no effort into taste or quality. Will never return. Way too many other great restaurants in Virginia Beach.

The most bland seafood I have probably ever had and margaritas tasted like a salt lick

I love the location and the cabana's. This place was recommended to me. Service was trash and food average. What made the whole experience terrible is our waitress Zaira. I ordered a lot of stuff. Spent about $125. When she brought my breakfast the eggs were cooked over easy. I kindly and politely said I ordered my eggs scrambled medium. She literally got upset and stomped off like a 2 year old!!! Then didn't come back to the table for a very long time. She got the manager and he brought the food out corrected. I asked my husband if I was rude because I know sometimes we can come off that way and he will tell me. He said absolutely not. I have never not tipped at a restaurant. I didn't give her a dime. I refused. She didn't even apologize. I doubt I will ever give back. That experience really bothered me. Over some eggs?! She was young. Probably too immature for that job. The outdoors part is the best part. I would give it a 0 but giving a 1 only because of the outdoor seating.

The oysters rockefeller are awful! Don’t waste your money. I think it’s a better place to have drinks.

Loved the atmosphere and food was good, only complaint was dinner service was a little slow. We were probably there for 2.5 hrs, mainly waiting for food. But we enjoyed the glider tables and waitstaff were nice!

This is such a fun and dare I say romantic place to eat. We sat in the outside gliders and once it gets dark it is so pretty out there. The food was so so,but our waitress was wonderful!

The fried fish sandwich continue about 4 bites of fish and the rest was skin. Service was great and drinks were generous. Hush puppies were fantastic
