Stopped by for dinner and the food was amazing. Both my husband and I were thoroughly impressed. The margaritas were fantastic. I had the Carne Asada tacos and they were delicious. We shared the chori-queso dip and it was also delicious. My husband has the ribeye and shrimp platter and he also really enjoyed it. Would definitely come again.

We were there on vacation from Canada and the hotel staff recommended this restaurant and let me tell you we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service and atmosphere and came there again on our last night. Next time we come to Virginia Beach we will definitely be coming back! 😁

We LOVE Side Street! The best Mexican food on the beach. Alicia behind the bar is fabulous and will quickly become your Cantina bestie! The prices for the amount of you you get are extremely reasonable and the margaritas are DELISH!! We always find locals at the bar to chat it up with and learn more about the area!. See you soon!!

We parked to meet some friends at the beach but got a whiff of what would be this Cantina across the street. We had to come back! We had taquitos with beef and chicken and steak fries and it was delicious! Good daiquiris! Our waiter was absolutely darling! Great music to accompany as well. If you are gluten free, you will find options like we did today!

This was my first time coming to Side Street Cantina. I saw online that it had amazing reviews and the place is in a good location close to the beach! They had a beautiful interior, very inviting and great service. Everyone is super friendly which is a plus! But I’ve definitely had better tacos for a better price. The tortilla wasn’t warmed or anything I’m not sure but it was pretty pale, lots of onions which isn’t the worst but heavy amount. The pastor and asada tacos were good but it was missing a kick to make it stand out. We had their tropical margarita and a traditional, very strong(we ended up returning one) but the traditional was good.

This place was cute. However very expensive. Was NOT told we would have an automatic gratuity. So was charged $49 automatic tip between 3 checks. That's outrageous.

Ran across this restaurant while just walking the strip looking for dinner. The artwork on the building caught my eye, so decided to give it a try. Struck gold. Some of the best Mexican I have ever eaten, the staff was friendly, and the prices are on par with non-beach restaurants. Next time I'm back, will definitely make sure to make it one of our stops.
