Was nice to leave the room and not leave the hotel. I wish they had a few more drink options!

My check-in was with Nina on Friday, August 27, 2022. She assisted with making sure my family that was arriving from Atlanta were all set as well. Nina thank you kindly for all that you did to make us feel comfortable at this beautiful hotel.

Arrived Sunday at 12:30 looking for brunch. I was told the Bistro was closed and only open for breakfast. It's not much of a brunch place if they no longer serve brunch.

Visited Virginia Beach and chose this location quite honestly because they accepted our reward nights. It’s about 11 miles from Virginia Beach oceanfront. It’s located right at the exit so traveling to and from the beach was easy. This hotel is dated, but well maintained. Whoever is doing the property management for the property is doing an excellent job. Everything is freshly painted and clean. But again everything is dated. It would be a big plus if they could get rid of the popcorn ceilings and the rugs and install LVT instead (I wish all hotels would do this- it just feels cleaner). Our room had a fridge (which wasn’t really working) and a microwave. The gentleman from Colorado that checked us in upon arrival was very very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is not located in the best area, seems pretty industrial and it looked like a family had their vehicle broken into overnight. There were great places to eat though within 5-10 minutes of the property like YNot and SweetSpot.

The housekeeping was fantastic I asked for extra towels every day and they deliver it on time the housekeeper was very nice the lady at the front desk was very nice they were nice. Would I recommend the hotel to anybody else sure I would but I would tell him to be very careful for people say to you and how they say it to you because they can misunderstand things sometimes. Be aware a 158.

Very disappointing. Various things in the room didn’t work, very old and worn out, no food service… I was only there two nights and was working late both nights or I would’ve left. Cheap feeling. Front desk rep who was there when I checked in was still there the next morning in the same clothes. She said no one relieved her overnight so she had to stay. Below Courtyard standards for sure.

Only an overnight trip this time to the area for me, but this is a nice hotel in a good area as it's central to downtown Norfolk, VB Oceanfront. Have to give a special thanks to the entire staff at this hotel. They are great. I got in later in the evening and was greeted pleasantly by Maya and enjoyed a great short conversation with her. Needed a late checkout by an hour to accomodate a change in plans...not a problem. Common areas were clean. Room was clean. Felt safe. Will be back.

I’ve stayed here a few times now for business trips, and each member of the staff bends over backwards to make your stay pleasant and easy. They were incredibly welcoming, remembering me each time and even providing a welcome bag of amenities and snacks - much appreciated after a long day of travel. There is construction going on around the building so it’s not great if you’d like to run outside, and rooms are a bit dated, but it’s perfect for what I need when I travel for work.

I canceled my reservation today because my daughter’s violin workshop was cancelled. The hotel is still charging me for one night of my stay. This is not right as the cancelation was out of my control. Manager was not willing to do anything to make this right. Will not consider staying here in the future.

This hotel reminds us of many a beach hotel, be it along the Dead Sea or Ocean City Maryland. It is not fancy. You get the feeling sandy feet and bathing suits in the lobby are the norm. We did not eat at the breakfast “buffet” (think primary school lunch line), but we did appreciate the free fruit, water and bars in the lobby. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, but know you front you will probably want to ask for extra pillows and towels. The linens are thin, so either wear warmer PJs or be prepared for slightly loud, dry heat from the running fan at night. All that said, the rooms were spacious. We weren’t there to hang out in the room, so it was fine for what it was. Note that you don’t need a parking pass to park, and that most likely you will be parking in the free lot across the street. Not a big deal, but FYI.

I've always been loyal to Marriott. Not only through employment but also because of standards and commitment to cleanliness. My most recent and final stay with Marriott, a rewards stay, will not have me returning. I politely sent an email to your Director of Operations addressing the cleanliness, and in particular the mold on the shower curtain in the room only to check into the same room a few days later and it was not even addressed! Disgusting. I can only imagine how else you are shortchanging your guests in cleanliness. Hilton hotels will work just fine for my all of my future hotel stays. I'm including the pictures of the mold taken the same day I sent an email addressing my concerns, and the mold still there the night of my reward stay.

We stayed for 2 nights in Sept 2019. One teen & 2 adults, one of whom is in a wheelchair. We booked a mobility accessible room through a 3rd party site. As others have said, this hotel is next to a construction site. We stayed Fri evening - Sun morning. No activity at the site, so noise wasn't a problem. There was a rough patch of road at the driveway entrance, not a big deal at all. Courtyard is located within a fairly easy drive to VA Beach, Norfolk, & tourist attractions. They have a snack bar in the lobby. This hotel does not offer free breakfast. Lobby & common areas are clean and modern. Check in was quick & easy. Both desk clerks were friendly & helpful. While one was checking us in, the other retrieved a luggage cart. Excellent service from 2 nice ladies! We were so impressed with the room. Many hotels miss the mark when it comes to wheelchair accessibility, but Courtyard thought of nearly everything! Room: Clean, spacious, plenty of room for a wheelchair to get around. Love the fact that they offer 2 queen beds in their accessible rooms. They understand handicapped folks sometimes have family, kids, or an assistant travelling with them. We loved that the entry to the room was wide, eliminating awkward maneuvering while entering or exiting. The clothes bar in the closet and the thermostat were lowered to wheelchair height. These are common oversights in accessible rooms, but are so important. There is a refrigerator in the room, but no microwave. Microwaves should be standard in handicapped rooms as many disabled guests have special dietary needs and travel with their own food. They provided a microwave upon request and were pleasant about it! Bathroom: Very clean and spacious! Door swings inward, practical & convenient for a wheelchair. Huge bathroom provided plenty of room to maneuver. Roll-in shower was a plus, but the real bonus was a handheld shower head & water controls next to the built-in bench. This would seem like a given, but many hotels design their showers with the bench on one end & water controls on the other, making it impossible for a paralyzed person to shower without help. Love the fact that the shower curtain goes all the way to the floor. Many hotels use standard curtains for their roll-in showers, leaving a gap between the floor and curtain which causes a puddle. As great as the bathroom was, they didn't make the shampoo accessible from the shower bench. (see photo) This would be a problem for a disabled person travelling alone. The lack of an exhaust fan causes the bathroom to get super steamy, and is probably why the metal sprinkler fixtures were rusted. Beds: Major complaint is that the bed was high for someone transferring from a wheelchair. This snafu isn't exclusive to this property, but is an often overlooked problem with every hotel brand. Mattresses on lofty platforms look great, but aren't practical for a disabled guest and shouldn't be the norm in an accessible room. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable with clean, soft linens. Overall: With the exception of a couple items mentioned above, this is the most well-thought-out wheelchair accessible hotel room we have stayed in thus far.
