We came here as a request of our birthday girl, she had been before had a good time and the food was good. This time it was not a pleasant experience. We did have a large group 9 of us. The most glaring problem was our server. A young lady with sunglasses on inside seemed annoyed that we would ask for things or want to order food. She made us feel very rushed and did not get our orders, correct. Two of our group did not even have their dinner, after we all were practically finished eating, she had never come back around to make sure that everyone had gotten their orders and then blamed it on their orders getting cut off, but they had ordered their food before another two that had already gotten their food so things really didn’t add up. Our waters were empty, and after we had just about enough one of our girls from our table, went to speak to the server in person to tell her that she pretty much ruined our evening. All she had to do was be a good human being, and then she went and talk to the manager which she seemed generally sorry for her servers behavior but there’s multiple reviews. Seems like the same server has an issue. The food was OK. I got the country fried steak and potatoes. They were all right. The crab soup was pretty good our two girls that didn’t get their meals ended up getting their meals comped, which rightfully so because they didn’t even get to enjoy anything while we were all were eating. Can’t say that I would like to go back.

We went here from a recommendation from our desk clerk at our hotel. This is a funky little place and the food was spot on. Highly recommend the wings. They are made differently that a majority of places serve and we enjoyed them immensely. We also had oysters rockerfeller and they were very good. Definitely check this place out.

A friend recommended this restaurant for fresh local seafood. I ordered fish tacos. The fried fish in the taco was cold and tasteless. The taco included slaw, the fish and a little mango salsa. There was a sauce to add. It was very incomplete. I don’t like to give a bad review but I order fish tacos often and this one was not good.

Funny as was leaving beach today a beach lover came up to us and started talking to us about food. Sooooo I said let’s give it a try. Small little restaurant on the bay which was very nice. I had the wings & fried clams. My mom had the clams & shrimp tacos. Was amazing. If in area check them out…

Our waitress was terrific. The Bleu burger was delicious. Best blackening on fish I have had. Very good local beers.

This intimate establishment is located on the marina at the inlet. It is a fantastic place to get breakfast. Staff is friendly and the service is great.

Awesome dive bar seafood. The wings are also great don’t miss them. If you’re looking for the beat to hell seafood restaurant with the freshest food this is it.

Overall, I wish we had picked another place. This place was recommended by a local which typically means great things with regard to food. Waited 45 minutes to be seated A no problem. Ordered 3 items from the appetizer menu and 1 lobster BLT with fries. It took 1.5 HOURS to get our food! This was 9-10:30p, so not even prime time. The wings were amazing - highly recommend. Everything else (oysters Rockefeller, calamari, lobster BLT) were so-so. Definitely not memorable: with that long of wait with 2 kids I had really hoped for the food to make up for the wait. It didn’t. Our waitress only checked on us once during that 1.5 hour wait. I rarely leave less than great reviews, but this place was a disappointment overall.

Great service and good selection of cocktails and craft beers. The restaurant is just a short walk from the beach. The food was good. We had fried shrimp, shrimp tacos and tuna tacos. Fried shrimp, French fries and shrimp tacos were very good. Tuna Tacos were okay, but nothing special. Key Lime pie was really good as well. Food took a little while to come out but the kitchen was busy so we were fine with relaxing and enjoying the view. Our server was great!

The place has gone down in cleanliness and quality of food. We’ve been coming here for years with out of town family. The oyster sandwich was over cooked and was all batter. The crab cakes were filled with breading and had no flavor. The floors were sticky and our table top still had remnants of lettuce and goo..had to move twice. Maybe it was a bad Sunday nite:(

The food was ok. No lemon or lime served with fish tacos so had to request some. Was very surprised to be surcharged for what should have come with. Tip calculation included taxes so in essence one is tipping on the tax.

Big Sam's is a hidden gem at the beach. I think tourists tend to skip it bc it's small and dive-y. But the food is wonderful. Their wings and steamed shrimp and house salad are wonderful. We love the lobster stack salad loaded with claw and lobster meat with corn and tomatoes and balsamic. highly recommend. We've eaten here a ton of times and they also have brunch. Staff are great and it's a local crowd here so it's easygoing and beach-y. Love it. Tends to get super busy on peak nights like Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and brunch is busy as well bc it's so small inside with limited seating.

Great place to meet out of town guests (staying at beach). Friendly staff and great food. Highly recc the shrimp tacos and the fish tacos. Will visit again.

Food was decent, but nothing to brag about. She crab soup was good. Steamed oysters were OK. I had the same meal the week before in Cape Charles and it was beyond excellent. So, probably unfair comparison. Fast service.

We arrived a wee bit early since originally planning on having lunch (they were still on the breakfast menu). My buddy's and my meal were completed quickly and service was outstanding. The sausage, egg, and cheese topped with sour cream and salsa was great, but the real amazing thing about the dish, that really helped to make it so wonderful, is the way it was paired with their potatoes.
