Slow, mediocre service. Nice decor. A little dark. Egg rolls may as well have come from grocery store. Sauce that accompanied them had no flavor. My beef broccoli was very good. Hubby’s sweet & sour chicken was not. The tempura was lovely golden and crisp, but the meat inside was very overcooked and hard to eat. Meh!
I went there with a friend for the first time for lunch. The service was good. For the difference in price I would opt for the dinner over the lunch. The lunch portion is much smaller and the only difference is it comes with a bowl of soup. If I were to do this again I would get the dinner portion because I could do without the soup and have more food. The food was delicious, but even at lunch time I noticed most everyone was ordering the dinner rather than the lunch.
The Imperial Palace is nestled in a small shopping plaza off Princess Anne Rd in Virginia Beach. We stopped by to have lunch on a Sunday and it was fairly busy.
The older lady welcomed and greeted us, and walked us to our table. She was a very enthusiastic lady and was very happy to have us dine at her restaurant. I loved her energy!
The food we ordered were mostly her recommendations, and they were delicious!
