The Melting Pot is more than just dinner; it's an immersive experience. This was our first visit to the restaurant. We went during Virginia Beach Restaurant Week, ordering off the three-course menu for a sampling of some of their most popular dishes. We were seated quickly and told that the burner with the pot would stay hot for the entire meal. The booths set up so two people are pretty small, and my husband had issues with his long legs. This was the only negative part of the entire evening. Our first course was cheese fondue, and we had three options. We chose the classic Alpine fondue with white wine and Swiss cheese. It was served with French and pretzel bread, crisp green apples, and assorted veggies for dipping. It was superb, and we devoured the warm cheese. We next were served a salad. My husband selected the house salad, which was crisp iceberg lettuce, veggies, a sliced egg, cheese and a honey mustard dressing. I opted for the California salad - mixed greens with a tangy vinaigrette. Both were good, but I would have preferred the crunch of the iceberg lettuce over the mixed greens, Our main course involved a serving of raw steak, teriyaki marinated beef, chicken and shrimp. It was served with potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms and eight different sauces. We selected a red wine base to cook our meat and vegetables. It was delicious, and lots of fun matching the different meats and veggies with the assorted sauces. We wrapped up our meal with the optional dessert fondue. Choosing which decadent chocolate sauce was tough, but we decided on the "Ying Yang Sauce - swirls of dark and white chocolate for dipping the accompanying cakes, fruit, and other sweet treats. Our server was a true showman, introducing each course with flair and sharing tips on the best way to best enjoy the experience. An amazing time with a truly unique dining experience!

The only thing that didn't quite sit right with me was that when my boyfriend mentioned to our server that it was my birthday, it went unacknowledged. I've heard that they usually bring out a birthday plate, so it was a bit disappointing not to receive one. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been a nice touch. That said, aside from this small oversight, he was still a good server and provided solid service overall.

Even though we made reservations, we were sitted 20 later. We did not mind that so much, the hosts were trying their best. The cheese fondue was OK. The salad poor, and rhe entree just Ok. The chocolote fondue never came. The best was the wine. The restaurant is very dark and outdated and has a weird smell that you take with you home. Overall we did not like the experience.

I didn't think I would like this going in, but was pleasantly surprised. The quality and quantity of food was much better than expected. The service was impeccable as well. My only complaint was that it was a bit dark (not a lot of light). I would highly recommend this experience to anybody wanting a change of pace from the usual “hey honey, let's go out and eat”

Our server Alexander was absolutely amazing, as someone who as extreme celiacs disease I haven't eaten out in a long time but my daughter wanted to go to a fancy dinner. He made me feel so safe and made sure everything was okay. I had no reaction and no issues! We are so grateful for him and will be back!

My husband & I have been to Melting Pot upwards of 20 times in our 6 years together- we came to this location last week & it blew us away! It was absolutely the best MP we’ve ever had. From the starter to the dessert, everything in between- the service was absolutely fantastic. Per our receipt, our servers name was Reef- 10/10 service! We will for sure be back.
