Update:
The owner called me and apologized. I appreciate him reaching out and hope this was a one time occurrence.
Ordered pizza at 5:10pm. I called at 6:50pm to see where it was. They said it was on the way. Offered a credit if the food wasn’t up to par. Clearly is was freezing. When I called to ask for a refund they said they would have to come collect the food and make a new order. I said that would take another hour correct? Stated yes, if you want your food hot. Young lady continued to speak with manager. Manager never go on the phone. I have been a customer here since they opened. I will never come back. They came and took the food and stated they will refund me. Worst customer service (from the manager not the you big lady on the phone)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️We swung by today for lunch. A Local Mom and Pop’s Pizza
We are still in search of the best slice in Virginia Beach. They have very good pizza 🍕 but the smash burger 🍔 stole the show! As someone who knows a thing or two about burgers highly recommend!
This is a local spot worth checking out!

Native New Englander who appreciates the local pizza joint, especially when you can get slices. In that way, Pizza Box is unusual for Hampton Roads, but I found it to be pretty good. You can get a slice with any of their standard toppings - but note that toppings are uncooked (not ideal). Pictured are slices with red onion and jalepeno. So next time I go, I might just order cheese. But the people who work there are super friendly and attentive... I was asked no less than 4 times how everything was - including from the guy working in the back. So they really care about the customer experience. I will definitely return!

Incredible food, came out quick, fresh, hot, and delicious. Service was polite and fast. The cheesy bacon tots with ranch are great to share ans the pizza is delicious. A nice sauce, crunchy thin crust with a good bite and great cheese. Very reasonable price for the quality of food as well.
Definitely more of a To-Go establishment ad there is scarce seating.

For context, we give Windy City Pizza a 9. Jet’s Pizza a 9. Sal’s NY Slice and Ynot a 8. We’d give Pizzabox a 5. It was salty and lacked pizza sauce. Won’t be ordering from here again.
If you haven’t been here yet it’s an ABSOLUTE MUST… No chain pizza places for this Jersey Guy!!! The Pizza Box is AWESOME!

They overcharged me the last time I was there! Will not return!
I know they overcharged me on my last to go order. No tip, no return, and definitely no recommendation! We should be able to give 0 stars. Brother's was a lot better!

Pizza was okay and half salad is good size. One thing we liked the most was that it is a Mom and pop restaurant and you can tell they are patriots.

As someone who grew up in Jersey (by way of Brooklyn), I have a deep appreciation for walking into a pizza joint and grabbing a slice. No fuss, no wait, no whole-pie commitment. That’s exactly what drew me into The Pizza Box. In a city like Virginia Beach, where surprisingly few places serve pizza by the slice, this felt like a rare and welcome find.
I ordered the special: one slice and a half salad for $6.99. It was a solid deal. The salad portion was surprisingly generous, fresh, and well put together. I added a soda and had a full lunch that didn’t break the bank.
The slice itself? Generous in size and definitely looked the part. Crispy edges, a nice fold, and that classic New York-style presentation. But while it looked great, the flavor didn’t quite match the visual. It was fine, just a bit basic. Nothing bad, just nothing that stood out either.
That said, the service was friendly, quick, and unpretentious. And the interior had a fun, proudly patriotic vibe. Think small-town Americana meets pizzeria comfort. It added a little charm that made the experience feel easy and familiar.
Final verdict: It’s not a game-changing slice, but it hits the spot—especially when you’re craving that Jersey-style, grab-a-slice-and-go feeling. Worth a visit, especially for the price and the atmosphere.

I'm from up North and also huge Pizza fan. I also owned my own pizzeria moons and moons ago. So it is something I am quite picky about. I saw the sign Mom and Pop place that it was exciting and I have to try it. It was worth it beyond all measure. Truly wonderful experience.
