Sent this email to the GM and got no response.April 16, 2024Dear Alexis,Hello. I am writing to you today to express my complete disappointment with the Golden Girls Brunch that was hosted by Tides Coastal Kitchen on Sunday, April 14th. I run a very successful Facebook Brunch group and I brought a group of 14 ladies on Sunday, and everyone was dissatisfied. From start to finish, this event was poorly organized and executed. We were instructed to make a reservation on OpenTable for the event, which would only let me reserve a table of 6, so I did that. The other girls made their own reservations because that is what we were told to do. Then, we had to get “tickets” from EventBrite but weren’t charged anything. I reached out to one of your bartenders whom I happen to know from another restaurant to ask if it was possible to have everyone in my party sit at the same table, he gave me Tally White’s contact information. When I spoke to Tally last month, I made a reservation for 20 people but told her that I would contact her the week prior to the event to confirm the count and the names of the people in my group so she could cross check the reservations so there wouldn’t be any double charges. A few days prior to the event, I sent Tally the list and my credit card information to hold our reservation. I then started getting messages from everyone in the group stating that they were getting phone calls to provide a credit card. I contacted Tally again, and she assured me that everything was all set. Three people in my group of 14 got charged prior to the event even though I had given my credit card information for the reservation. Payment was figured out, but it could and should have gone much more smoothly. I highly suggest NOT using both OpenTable and EventBrite, that was very confusing and redundant. Now on to the food. It was absolutely not worth $35/pp. The meats were not cooked properly (the bacon was almost raw), the eggs benedict was not cooked correctly, the salmon was raw, and there was Caesar salad but no Caesar dressing and on top of that the food was all cold. The drinks priced at $15/ea is ridiculous. To compare your brunch to another one that we’ve done…The Grain in Norfolk hosts a fantastic brunch buffet for $31/pp that includes a seafood raw bar, fresh pastries, an omelet station, breakfast tacos and so much more with mimosas and other brunch drinks for $3. What we received was not on par with what we have received at other places by far.I do have to say, the server who took care of us (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name), was great. She was very nice and was attentive. I hope that you will take this review and use it to become better. I wish you the best of luck.

I was in Va Beach celebrating my birthday and my daughter surprised me with this location. We can see the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, we could not walk out it was far too breezy. The older female waitresses were atuned to your satisfaction, and were genuinely concerned if you were satisfied. We started with oysters a lil small, but extremely fresh and tasty. Accompliments with oysters were cocktail sauce, horse radish, vinegar and hot sauce. We continued our brunch with thick hash browns,Chesapeake omelet, Crab cake Benedict. Service was excellent food tasty and the view amazing, all combos for a great meal!

Went for the Easter Brunch $55.00 a person. At first glance everything looked great! Food was not labeled so you didn't know what you were getting till you started to eat even them questionable. What looked like salmon was a mystery fish, although fairly good. Hot food was at best warm. Salad was a mixture of spinach and leafy green with no other vegetable toppings. Dressing unlabeled. They had a omlet bar which was the only really hot food. Desserts were in abundance and poetry tasty. Definitely not worth the price. Will not return

The food is very basic yet the prices are high end. The eggs on the buffet are obviously powdered eggs, the potatoes were from frozen and overcooked. The service was friendly, however, it was not until we paid the bill that the waitress advised my husband that he could have substituted for something else. The view of the beach is nice.

I'm surprised to see such a low rating, as I fully expected 4-5 stars, hands down. The Tides Double Smash Burger is probably one of the best burgers I've had, with so many flavors including the pickles and carmelized onions. The burger patties were large and filling and the to-go container was full of seasoned fries. The restaurant is modern, casual, with a great view of the beach, and very clean. Emily was helpful, quick with our food and bill, and funny - we love her! There were lots of interesting drink mixes on the menu with a large bar for seating, and it definitely gets a rowdy, fun crowd on a Sat night!

Stayed at the Marriot Delta and Tides Coastal Kitchen was closed most of the time. We did manage to sit at the bar and the food looked delicious.

I really wanted to like this place, but I couldn't. She crab soup is like chicken broth with some crab flavored Ramen seasoning. I couldn't even tell if there was any crab meat in there, horrible. Chicken Ceasar salad, blah.. was like they microwaved chicken and put it on lettuce. Burger is decent, shrimp cocktail was decent, views was great. Idk why they decided to put the bar between the tables and the view, though, but what u could see was good. $140 + tip for a burger, some eggs, 2 salads, a she crap soup and a shrimp cocktail.. which I wouldn't complain about usually but the food was nowhere worth the price. Such a let down. Horrible.

Loved the live music (not too loud, could still hold a conversation)! And the Fish Fri-yay deal was amazing! Still a somewhat pricy meal after oyster appetizers and drinks but overall a great dinner with our 8yo and her friend!

Great experience! Food was on point . Drinks were amazing . Attentiveness my the air staff was appreciated. Met the restaurant GM , believe her name was Tally , so knowledgeable regarding our wine request . Shared the Easter menu which we immediately booked for.

HOORAY FOR RESTAURANT WEEK!! I was pleasantly surprised with the healthy servings and overall experience! When a well suited team is hired, it makes for an auspicious business and makes a world of difference! From the moment we arrived, Bev the lovely hostess, set the tone for my dinner experience. Immediately we were warmly greeted. Bev has the perfect affable disposition for the hospitality field. She communicated great concern for our comfort as it was a blustery night. Grey our server was kind, and proficient and based on our palate, informatively guided us with his knowledge of the menu to confirm our meal choice. He was extremely helpful and accurate. If you're a meat lover such as myself, you are in for a real treat with the braised beef! I was overwhelmed with excitement at the robust portion size and the moist, tender, and savory flavor. The fork effortlessly cut through the meat it was so tender! No knife needed! The sides were filling and the salad was satisfying. The manager, Stephen delivered our entrées and was friendly ,engaging throughout the night and quite astute! Everything was fantastically delicious & beautifully presented, the chef is a culinary wizard! The only disappointment was the listed desserts on the restaurant week menu had run out. I was dreaming about that chocolate pear mousse! Instead we had the key lime pie. It's a great restaurant located inside Delta Marriott with streamlined contemporary decor with a ceiling of strings of lights that make you feel like you're dining under a blanket of stars. During the winter season the outside deck was closed. However, I did walk outside and from the deck you have an unobstructed view of the ocean and the Chesapeake Bay bridge.

Stephen, the general manager, and the hostess, Bev, and Grey, our waiter, were outstanding! From the moment we arrived, they greeted us cordially and seated us at our table. The restaurant is elegantly appointed in a casual coastal setting just on the Chesapeake Bay. The braised short rib was an incredibly generous serving and absolutely delicious and flavorful! It was so tender, I only needed my fork to eat it!! The staff was so accommodating and kept checking on us to make sure everything was great! Although we didn't get chocolate pear mousse because they ran out, the key lime pie was great! The field green salad was delicious and generous as well! The atmosphere was calm and relaxed in a casual setting with beautifully appointed furnishings! It was a great dining experience all around and we commend the staff on outstanding hospitality and service!! Kudos to the chef, who blew us away with the braised beef short rib!! It was phenomenal!! Highly recommend this place!!! We will definitely return for more!!

Friday night dinner during restaurant week. The food was very good, a bit more upscale than the previous spot here (Tin Cup). Service was very slow, they only had one server working. Service has always been spotty at this location, I think they must have a hard time hiring and keeping staff. That's never a good sign. But generally speaking, it's a pretty good place to grab a drink and dinner.

Ugh....I hate writing bad reviews but I just have to with this one. I haven't been here since it became Tides Coastal Kitchen from the Tin Cup. We were here for brunch on a Sunday at 11 am. We were the only table in the restaurant and only 1 or 2 people at the bar. They do have a buffet and it closes at 11 am so that might be the reason. The chaos started when the reservation was made. Not by me - by my friend. She said they didn't ask her name or any details like time wanted. That kind of was a red flag. There was 9 of us and we had someone find our waitress for us. It was weird. Service was very jerky - not smooth at all. Seemed like she was very confused. She was nice but just seemed confused. We waited so long for her to come back to take our order that we ended up writing the order down from everyone and we were going to hand it to her. Food came out wrong on some peoples order. Checks were given to the wrong people. We waited lots of time for drinks, food, checks etc. The food was okay. Not worth the prices and I personally think $8 for a mimosa is way too expensive. It's not a $8 mimosa establishment. I was able to substitute a salad for the fries. I liked that. My chicken sandwich was good but it was just a chicken sandwich. Not worth $17. Definitely overpriced. The manager was so kind and felt bad and tried correcting things. I just think that the employees need to be retrained or they need to change things up. With so many great brunch spots on Shore Drive, people are going to go other places. I hope they correct things, retrain employees and lower prices. Ehhhh......at best. I honestly probably won't be back and would not recommend.
