Tropical Smoothie Cafe

A group of my friends and I walked in and the first thing the girl with dark curly hair at the counter exclaimed was “oh god. Here we go” with disgust and gesture to her other female coworker who rolled her eyes. Look I’m not trying to be a Karen I don’t do this but this was crazy. It gets worse. None of us were acting in any sort of way we walked in quietly. Then the dark haired girl looked at their blonde male coworker and said “don’t bother even cleaning the bathrooms” and the guy said “oh because of those customers?” THEN the blonde guy, after we ordered talked with the other two out loud about how “isn’t it funny how most people that come in here are fat” AGAIN out loud at the counter. They just kept making remarks about us the whole time we were there. The smoothies were good but I’m just so confused as to what made them treat us that way.

Terribly awful experience every time we come. The people take forever to greet you or take the order. The waiting is unbelievable and to top it off there is an obnoxious alarm that goes off every time the door opens. The people claim it is a rule for all locations but it isn't. Not a single cafe in the area has this except them.

25 minute wait for a smoothie that I ordered ahead of time to pick up. People walked in and ordered and got smoothies and food before my order was even touched. Even an employee made themselves a smoothie while I still waited. Save yourself the trouble and go to sweet spot where they do their job.

Worst service I’ve ever been given in my life. Staff was rude and took over 30 minutes to get my smoothie. Absolutely insane. Wasn’t even that busy in there.

I always get my smoothies here. When I walk in, I don’t have to wait long. When I order online, I never have to wait at all.

I ordered a peanut butter cup no peanut butter sub white chocolate and add coconut… smoothie came out the right color but tasted like peanut butter ice ? If I said no peanut butter why did it taste like peanut butter. It’s like they used a dirty blender ! I had already left so I tried to call and the phones went straight to voicemail. I use to love this location it has gone completely downhill. Very disappointed.

This complaint isn’t just for this location. This complaint is about all of the locations in this area in general that are very similar to this location. The only exceptions I found are the Holland Road location in the Kempsville Road location in Chesapeake. I consistently get bad food and smoothies from this location. I’m tired of complaining. I’m just not going back. I will drive out of my way to go to the Holland Road location or the Kempsville Road location if I want Tropical Smoothie. The owners of The other locations are doing a disservice to the company.

Wanted to try the new Lilo and Stitch Ohana Breeze flavor. I ended up with basically an icicle in a cup. They clearly pre-made it and put it in the freezer. Don't go here. They don't care about actually pleasing the customer.

Love the smoothies and now a big fan of the smoothie bowls

The manager asked to see my ID because I got lunch for my coworkers and I. Luckily lunch was on my dime this week because apparently if the card doesn’t match name you get denied service (my coworkers sometimes send me with their card to pay instead of transferring money) I am very off put my coworkers and I will no longer be considering this location in our lunch rotation.

I'm going to start by saying I have never, before this, had a bad experience at any tropical smoothie. However, I ordered from this tropical smoothie, the same thing I ordered all the time, and it was terrible. Terrible. It was one of the green smoothies and literally tasted like dirt. I brought it home and tried to doctor it up by adding more banana and other fruits but it still tasted terrible. I was too far away to return to the store. On a positive note, I sent an email to corporate and they reimbursed me with a gift card.

Walked out of here . Restaurant was empty with 2 employees in the back talking about their co workers. I sat there for 20 minutes with no greeting . Both of them looked at me and continued to not help me or even greet me .
I tried again 1 month later and I asked for some more honey for my Greek yogurt bowl because there was ONE tiny thin line of honey . The lady said she’d have to charge me for more lol .Then went back to her conversation with her coworker about her other coworkers lmao. Never coming again the people here are stobby and rude. And from looking at the other reviews yall got the same problem with other people . Someone obviously doesn’t know how to run a business.

I tried to purchase a smoothie there today. The guy making my drink shouted my name with the lid open. I requested a refund because he did it on purpose. When I requested a refunded he told me he had to wait for the manager because the manager was not in. He was trying to get spit in my drink. I will be disputed the charges. The guy wrote refund Ethan on receipt.
