Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar

We were seated right away. Our server, Kimme, was prompt, attentive, polite, and quite hospitable. The restaurant atmosphere was pleasantly quiet, and our booth was comfortable. Our appetizer, fried pickles, were tasty and with just the right amount of batter. The tomato soup was creamy and flavorful. The Tupelo shrimp and grits entree was creamy, slightly spicy, and the shrimp and andouille sausage were tender and plentiful, a blend of flavors that tickled the palate. We have placed Tupelo Honey on our list of favorite dining locations.

Great place for restaurant week! We each had the fried chicken and took 3/4 of each entree home for another meal.

The Brussels are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, just as the lemonade. The biscuits were dry but the jams are divine.

We had a wonderful experience at Tupelo Honey. Our group of seven (four adults and three children, including a newborn) was well accommodated, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. This was our third visit to this location, and we look forward to returning again soon.

Love the food and atmosphere. Their sweet spicy chicken and waffle is delicious.

Good food good service now that I’ve tried it idk if worth marking as a favorite meal in Virginia Beach but would recommend it to others to try if haven’t yet too!

Alyssa provided great service for our table, she had a great sense of humor. Food & drinks were out fast and it taste good. Will repeat and definitely recommend.

Ambiance was great for a meet up with a friend. The food was good but feel it could have been better. I got the shrimp and grits and for next time I would love to see the shrimp slightly larger and for the flavor/ingredients to have a little more life. The staff and service was great though!

It was New Year's Eve and we looked forward to having our last good meal of 2025 here. Most of the staff did their best to serve us in the time left before closing, but a couple of female employees really made us feel they were in a rush to get us out of there. That's pretty much the only thing that ruined the vibe because our main server, Baron/Byron, was awesome and the food (especially the fried chicken) was delicious. Hope 2026 will be a better year for this restaurant, a go-to establishment for us in Town Center for many years running.

From the moment I walked in , there was no hostess to greet me. I waited almost 10 min before someone came to seat me and that was because I started walking around looking for someone. She didn’t even acknowledge or apologize for the wait. Upon sitting down , I waited another 15 min for someone to come to my table to take a drink order. I was afraid of how long it would take to make an alcoholic beverage so I opted for a hot tea. The waitress was nice but still not apologetic for the wait. I finally put in my order which took another 30 min to receive and it was cold. Extremely frustrating to say the least. I’ve been to the location in Charlotte, NC which was amazing , so I was excited to see there was a location during my travels to VA beach, but was sorely disappointed. I’m currently writing this review as I’m waiting for my tab. Oh boy, let’s see how long this will take? No one has even come to ask, if I’m doing okay, all set, if the food is okay or do I need to top off my tea?? Yikes.

The place is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly, however the flavor of the food was lacking, even though the appearance of the food is impeccable. The fried pickles are very good,along with the alcohol beverages.
