Vino Italian + Bistro

we always come to vinos on special occasions. we stopped in today before i go have back surgery. we’ve always had a great pleasant time. today was very very different, we had a female waitress “maggie” that seemed she hated her job, didn’t greet us, horrible table side manner, didn’t check on us. food was good as always but she HAS ruined our experience with vinos. we always had a great time with the male waiter that was always there before!!! such a bummer.. i think it will be awhile before i come back. sad but true

Took the family there for a birthday dinner. The service was great, Food was good. Our bill was over $250. What really upset me was they charged a credit card service fee, which was not disclosed. I just realized it when purchasing a gift card today & looking at the receipt once I was home. The cc service fee was also charged on this. This is the last time I will do business here.

I’d like to share my experience at Vino today. My husband and I went in during dinner time, around 7pm, fully expecting maybe a delay in service for it being a dinner rush considering the hour, but it was moderately slow. We got sat down and I went to the restroom as we got settled, and told my husband what to get me to drink. I came back from the restroom, my husband said you didn’t miss anything. I see another table next to us getting sat. Despite us getting sat down first, the server approached the other table first, got their water and wine. It’s been a good 15 minutes and no check in. Working in the service industry for years, this is unacceptable. We got up and left after 20 minutes. We were beyond upset with their service. Vino was not busy enough for us to be disregarded like so. We don’t plan on returning. We advise you don’t either! Vino, please train your servers better, so embarrassed for you.

I really was excited to try this place out via Doordash. Unfortunately, the Oyster Rockefeller came burnt and highly noticeable. After still attempting to give it a try, taking off burnt areas, all I could really taste was a lot of cheese or cream cheese. I double-checked for an Oyster, which it was in there. I'm willing to give them another try...disappointed that it wasn't very tasty.

The food was excellent. Our waiter was also tending bar & was very pleasant & knowledgeable regarding the menu. I got the veal parmesan-- cooked to perfection & so tasty. Would highly recommend Vinos for a lovely night out with family or friends.

The Osso Bucco was so out of this world. Tender, veggies were great, earthy, delicious. Highly recommend. House dressing was really good too! Service was great 👍

Atmosphere is good. I ordered the margarita pizza, my wife ordered the chicken Alfredo. All had no flavor. And my pizza was not an authentic margarita pizza. Very little cheese. One slice almost nothing at all. I probably won't be back

The ambiance and wait staff (especially the bartender) are wonderful. The lasagna was fantastic as is the chicken parmesan. The music adds to the vibe and isn't too loud so you can have an easy conversation.

Drinks always empty, rude customer service. Bad food.

We live having them in Kempsville!

4/10/23 - Went to this place on Thursday evening. They have a large bar top area.
There is additional seating behind the wine wall. The food was really good.
The bread was nice and fluffy but lacked flavor but some butter helps with that.
I got the Mediterranean pasta and asked for light sun dried tomatoes, it was super delicious.
The plate makes the dish look small in my opinion but I was wrong about that. There was definitely a good portion in the bowl that I was able to take home. We also got a bottle of wine, which I am not sure which kind but it was pretty good. Haley was also super nice as our server. It wasn't too busy on Thursday night either. Everyone else with my table really liked their food too. I am excited to come back and try some more items.

Friends had told me the best place for fresh focaccia was in Virginia Beach at a place called Vino Italian bistro and they were right. Not only was that amazing but I wanted to get something off the menu. I asked for a chicken Parmesan sub, and they didn’t hesitate to make it for me and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a great place to have lunch, take advantage of some amazing lunch specials, if it’s a meeting or just an escape from the workday, I can’t say enough great things about Italian bistro in Virginia Beach. They have wine specials during the week as well so I will be back for dinner soon! If you are thinking Italian restaurants in VA Beach make sure that Vino Italian bistro is on your list!!
