Waterman's Surfside Grille

If you are visiting VA Beach, this is a MUST do. The food was fantastic, the service was stellar and the valet literally ran to get our vehicle. The fresh fish today was flounder, outstanding and the crab cakes are exceptional!

Although extremely busy we had a great experience from valet, host to server. Try the bacon wrapped sea scallops and hush puppies! (Obviously the Orange Crush, too!)

We had dinner with a party of eight (for my birthday) and everything from start to finish was top notch. Our server, Caitlyn, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made us feel completely taken care of.

The food was excellent: the grilled salmon, steak, crab cake, mashed potatoes, and Ghirardelli brownie sundae (with a candle!!) were all amazing. And of course, the Orange Crush was as good as advertised! We were seated quickly and impressed by how efficiently the appetizers and entrées came out, especially for a larger group.

Highly recommend Waterman’s for anyone visiting Virginia Beach—great food, great service, and an even better view!

This place was pretty sweet. Wait time wasn’t awful, but place was packed. Server was nice, attentive, and had an extensive knowledge of the menu. The she crab soup was delicious and definitely worth the price. The burger was delicious, and the waterfront view tied everything together nicely. Prices were very modest for the value, overall definitely a great pick for a solid oceanfront dinner.

Came here for Fourth of July - cute restaurant with decent food but you could tell they were trying to turn tables quickly. Our server was super unfriendly which was unfortunate. Went to Chix (their sister restaurant) the next day and had a way better experience.

Re:SAMPLE SIZE PORTIONS AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
My wife and I visited Virginia Bech from out of town and saw Waterman’s decide to try with very bad experience all the way around.
There is plenty of metered parking so their “valet” parking is a sham. From the beginning there is a rush rush attitude and atmosphere is nil when you are rushed.
Ordered fisherman’s platters at $34.99 and found both to be sparse on any seafood while plenty of hush puppies and fries another sham. Yo are way better off at the frozen section of Whole Foods.
I ordered 2 cups of tea with 2 teabags in each cup. Don’t you know a that they charged $2.75 per TEABAG with a whopping tea charge for 2 cups of tea at $11.00. What a ripoff!
I called a person on the next day who said she was a manger and told me that all teabags are accounted for. Is that ridiculous !
She did everything but give me a refund. She acknowledged that the tea was overcharged but for $4.00 and refused to mail me a check since we paid cash but was willing to mail me a gift card for $4.oo when I return. So she wants me to spend more money to get a refund? Why would we return?
Apparently they don’t like to give cash back even when it’s their fault. She also refused to take my credit card for an electronic refund.
Overall, a total waste of time and money, and I recommend you go elsewhere to a REAL restaurant.

Had a great time with drinks at the bar before a nice birthday dinner with the family. The filet mignon with lobster tail was phenomenal. Will be back again! Thanks

Best lobster I have ever had! Literally melted in my mouth! Nice beach view. Service was on point, and the bar had many options for drinks. The only thing I was slightly disappointed in was the 12 Oz Ribeye. It was rather thin and slightly overcooked. It did have a good flavor, though.

Very busy but everything was AWESOME! Don't miss your chance.
