I really love this little spot. Consistent, consistent, consistent! Every time I eat here, I get the same experience. While that may sound boring to some, it is very important to me. You see, I work near this place so I use it as a meeting spot for friends, family and colleagues. Having a dependable establishment where I can go to get a good meal and not worry about the food, the service or the atmosphere is wonderful.

The food was phenomenal! Light and fluffy pancakes, perfect eggs, and the Turkey sausage was very flavorful. The chicken and waffles were awesome, tender juicy chicken on a crisp waffle! The staff was very friendly and very fast. Don't forget the tots...they were sooo good

Great food! Absolutely love the she crab soup. I am not a fan of grits but I actually love the grits here. A little on the pricey side but worth it as food is always fresh and delicious.

4.5 out of 5. The "You gotta try this" lives up to its name because you gotta try it! Coffee is fresh and pretty good for a diner style restaurant. The only (little) complaint I have is the grits at What the Gritz are slightly below average compared to grits I've had. Not as bad as grits out of a box though. Still, with a restaurant named What the gritz you kinda expect more, ya know?

Food is the best! Wish they were still open for dinner. Difficult to get to visit now that they have shorter hours.
Tots and ranch are amazing. Kids chicken had no seasoning. Grilled chicken sandwich was overcooked but good flavor, and had cheese which was not stated on the menu.

This place was awful! The food was disgusting. I ordered the shrimp basket and the shrimp was so greasy and chewy. I could eat it. My friend ordered eggs, grits, bacon and a biscuit. The biscuit tasted like it was from a can and it was rock hard. The grits were grainy, and the bacon was so chewy. The manager came over and was not very nice. He took my friends order off our bill but charged me half price for the shrimp basket. Never eating here again

First time here. We almost didn't dine here because it was so cold inside the restaurant and we had been saoked by rain just before coming in. Fortunately for us our waitress Jessica was amazing. She put us next to the fireplace and gave us piping hot coffee. The service was excellent and the food was perfect. Jessica recommended the tater tots and I was worried because I don't like tots.....BUT OH GAWD THESE TOTS!!! Thanks for an awesome dining experience. We will be back.

Nice establishment with good, comfortable seating and layout. The wait staff was prompt and courteous when taking my order. I'd say the food was decent, but the portions were a bit on the smaller side. I would come back to try other items and drinks. Overall good place to visit in Virginia Beach!
