I started going to Yama at their original location on General Booth Blvd shortly after they opened in 2003 about. This is when Jean's brother and husband were the primary chefs. Food has always been great and every location we have visited has been the same!

The food is ok, but I'd rather them tune their piano than get free items with the meal. It was painful to hear throughout the whole meal and ruined any chance at normal conversation.

I paid for the Dreamer roll and received this only crab one :( the dreamer has spicy salmon so I’m disappointed I drove all the way over to get something I didn’t pay for.

I love their sushi! I get the shrimp tempura roll, my boyfriend however believes this place smells too "fishy" but i don't smell anything.

I phoned in a take-out for a sushi roll and a beer. The sushi was good...too much rice and cut too thick for my liking but it was good.

We've been coming here for years and it has remained my favorite spot for sushi! The rolls are made fresh upon order and the service is consistently excellent. It gives off family and modern Asian vibes. They keep it fun with lights and décor relevant to the time of year/seasons/holidays. We never have to wait to be seated and always enjoy our time! Stop by and get some amazing sushi!

amazing food and service, employees were extremely nice. we got free miso soup and vegetable rolls. sushi was outstanding. would definitely recommend coming here. and i would definitely come back but probably cant because im in va for vacation.

Excellent service upon entering. The food was prepared quickly and tasted very good. Edamame beans from the beginning was a plus. Spring rolls were also complimentary. And for the final touch, we received cream puffs o. The house. The environment was very clean and quiet. Our waitress was very pleasant and friendly. Would definitely return on our next visit to the area.
