Such a lovely and amazing restaurant!! My family I visited Virginia Beach and wanted to try something new, so we chose this place. The server was so sweet, she seemed like she was the only one and she was doing a great job, made sure we were okay and checked on us. The food took a while, maybe half an hour, but we didn’t mind! All the food we ordered was amazing, my two sisters and one of their boyfriends ordered the Fufu, they loved it. I got a salad with the Yendidi sauce, which was VERY good. Also got two alcoholic drinks, which we loved. Overall, lovely experience and server, when I visit again I will visit again!

Always love trying new places and I am so happy we did! What a fun and delicious place. Went for an early dinner last month and we all enjoyed the variety and flavorful options. We tried the peanut butter soup with chicken, oxtail stew and whole red snapper. For apps we got the kelewele and chicken suya. The flavors were so good! We enjoyed everything. The atmosphere was very chic and enjoyable. We loved the playlist. Our waiter was ok but did not seem to know the food very well- maybe new? But he was very nice and took good care of us. Some of our group has already been back to try other things! I cant wait to return and try some of the other delicious food!

A wonderful experience!

I wanted to try a few different things so I ordered for pick up since I’d have so many leftovers. Inside the restaurant was beautiful. From the copper tiled ceiling, the art on the walls and even the table settings, the atmosphere was appealing and tasteful. The woman behind the bar was friendly and welcoming. This was my first time there and first time trying West African cuisine so we chatted about that for a bit. I ordered 2 entrees; Peanut Butter Soup with Tilapia, medium heat, which was fantastic, and Medium heat Tomato Base Goat Stew, which was somehow even better. Both were deep and layered in flavor. Medium was the perfect heat level for me, but the lady had mentioned that I can always get a side of pepper sauce to adjust the heat myself and I’ll definitely try that in the future. For sides I had coconut rice, nicely seasoned collard greens, and sweet plantains. I’ve always wanted to try fufu so I was very excited for that, but when I saw they had a bunch of similar options I had to try as many as I could this trip. I had Plantain Fufu, Banku, Pounded Yam, and Ga Kenkey. They were all as delicious as I’d imagined, but Ga Kenkey has my heart. If you love the sour twang of fermented foods this one is not to be missed. I already know I’m gonna crave it again soon. Thank you Yendidi, from the back of the house to the front I couldn’t ask for better food or service.

All the dishes are delicious and excellent. But only if they have the ingredients. My husband ordered a fish dish, but 15 minutes after ordering, they said they didn't have that fish today. They told us a type of fish they have today, but we asked them to bring menu because we wanted to see it again. The waiter brought the menu with a very annoying attitude, and sat on the chair next to us, waiting with an attitude that he wanted us to order quickly. I didn't know the name of the fish dish I had at this restaurant before, so I showed him a picture and asked him, and he said he didn't know with an annoying attitude. He was also rude when taking the order. And he didn't bring my husband's drink for over 30 minutes. We went there a few times, but the waiter was a disappointment. And it takes a long time for the food to come out, so you'll probably end up spending 2-3 hours at this restaurant.

The food was nasty, no flavors and when I asked to speak to the cook or owner about the food , I was told it was an African American cooking the food and no one else was there. I’m African and usually don’t go to African restaurants because it’s never authentic but this one was one of the worst flavor I had and then it wasn’t an African person in the kitchen cooking. Just crazy, the Jollof rice, spinach sauce and lamb stew had no flavor.

This was my first time eating from here. The customer service was good. I love the vibe of the whole restaurant and they have a bar. I got the oxtail stew (tomato base). It is bursting with so much flavor. It's overwhelming but a good overwhelming. It is extremely greasy so I will not be getting this everytime. I got the pounded yam fufu to eat with it. It just tastes like plain mashed potatoes to me with a thicker texture. The afro beef pie was better than I thought and the dipping sauce that came with it is good too. The beef pie is a bit dry so the sauce gives it some moisture. The cabbage was perfect. I love the seasoning they put on it. The only thing with the cabbage is that they don't give you very much as a side. It's literally like a little scoop. Overall, this whole meal was heaven ? ? I definitely recommend.

Vegetarian options: They have vegan options

Kid-friendliness: They have kids meals.

Everything here is just absolutely wonderful. The service was prompt and attentive. We ordered the Goat lunch special with the pineapple/ginger drink which was so delicious and the Stewed mackerel which was heavenly. I've been meaning to try this place for months and am so glad I finally did. We happened to come in on a rather rough day for the staff, but wouldn't have known if they didn't let us know the wait was due to unforeseen delays truly phenomenal service and experience all around

Nice clean colorful restaurant I ordered peanut butter spinach soup I am a vegetarian so it's good for vegetarians as well. The stew has different spice levels I am spicy eater and normal when I ask for the maximum spice at restaurants it's not spicy even Indian restaurants but this restaurant delivered what I desired it has a nice heat. The peanut butter stew is something new I tried this is my first time trying this restaurant I enjoy egusi and it's my go to dish but wanted to try something new. The peanut butter stew wasn't bad but wasn't for me because I love flavorful food and this is a savory dish with not alot of flavor. The coconut rice was a good texture. Good portions sizes the cabbage I enjoyed a nice crunch but not too crunchy good flavor but I needed more seasoning on mine. I wanted jollof rice but they didn't have any ready it was thirty minute wait which was disappointing and they were low on mest I didn't care because I don't eat it but for a customer who really was looking forward to it and drove far for it that would be disappointing. But everything was good and good customer service. I will return to try their jollof and egusi and get more cabbage. Oh they also have military discount which a bonus!!
